Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Maasai Mara. 🛩️ Life got busy. The reel got delayed. The memory? Absolutely untouched. We had already been soaking up Africa but our second stop in Kenya hit different. Touched down on the savanna and celebrated 50 years of my parents in the most epic way we knew how. Safari days, wild skies, golden everything and a family that keeps showing up for each other. That is the real celebration. 50 years down and still the greatest love story I know. One Big Reason I Came to Peru: The Inca Trail 🇵🇪This has been on my bucket list for a long time — and it meant so much to come to my country and finally do it. I trained for many months for this 4-day trek through the Andes, and every step was worth it.I’ve been to Machu Picchu three times before, but this time was completely different. Hiking the Inca Trail and entering through the Sun Gate — the original way the Incas arrived — made it feel so much more meaningful.1. First Look — Sun Gate (Inti Punku) After days of hiking, this was the moment: arriving at the Sun Gate just after sunrise. Behind me, you can just make out Machu Picchu in the distance — the view we’d been walking toward for four days. Clear skies, steady legs, and a full heart. 👉 The Sun Gate can only be reached by those who hike the Inca Trail.2. (Video) The final steps of our 4-day trek — me arriving at the Sun Gate. A moment I’ll never forget.3. Elevation + Route Chart If you’re wondering what we walked — this gives you the full picture. Four days of ups and downs (literally), altitude shifts, and some seriously wild terrain.4 & 5. Dead Woman’s Pass The highest point on the trail — 13,800 ft. I cried when I reached the top. Not because I was tired… but because I was proud. That moment hit deep.6. The Monkey Steps One of the steepest parts of the trail. Huge, uneven stone steps where you have to climb with hands and feet. I was nervous but focused — and yep, I made it up.We had the most incredible team with us: 22 porters and 2 guides who set up camp, cooked our meals, and cheered us on the whole way.The rest is just a small compilation of photos and videos from the trail — the terrain, the rain, the tunnels and bridges, the ruins we passed… and the tents where we slept at night. Maasai Mara, Kenya 🌍I have been to a lot of places. The Maasai Mara is special. The land, the people, the sound of birds and monkeys outside your window at dawn.
