Horse Girl

Alice Brasser, Laura Benson, Abigail Mcginley, Jane Mechner, Sofia Serpa Arango and Nana Wolke

This exhibition looks at both the symbolic meaning in the Chinese calendar and the contemporary rhetoric around the socio-political realities of the aspirational ‘horse girl’.
Taking inspiration from the cultural zeitgeist’s seeming obsession with horses, the artists look at both the raising of a call of arms for us to charge after what we want, and be who we are in ‘The Year of the Horse’, and the nuanced connotations of being a ‘horse girl’ that pervade the current art world.
