I had a lot of fun captions I could put, but unfortunately I have a different post to write now. In my first game back from my ACL tear, I tore my other knee. With this being said, I have sadly had to retire from soccer. These three years at Bellevue have gone by so fast and I have loved every single second despite the injuries. I have met some of the most incredible people and have made so many lifelong friends! Even though we had to wait two months to get these pictures back, I had to post them to remember my last year here at Bellevue. I have made so many great memories and will continue to watch these girls grow in their lives even when I leave here to do other things. Thank you Bellevue Women’s Soccer!! This year has been nothing like what I expected. March 29, 2025 I tore my ACL and had to sit out what would have been my senior season. Thank you to all the people that have been by my side through this whole journey.
It has been a roller coaster of a journey. The tears up all night from pain, to tiny milestones like bending and straightening my knee, then jumping and running again, and finally being cleared.
It challenged me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. The discipline to show up everyday. Having to slow down from playing soccer to simple movements. Not doing things even though my body felt fine. Knowing how high the risk is to hurt myself again if I do something too early and not being cleared for it. Patience is so important for this injury. You feel fine but your knee isn’t healed enough to do certain things until you prove are strong enough.
This injury had been a blessing for me. I got to slow down and find new things I enjoy. It was a long journey but I finally get to say, “see you for preseason”. Thank you Jesus for this journey and giving me the opportunity to learn more about myself and giving me the chance to play soccer again. by @abigailmurphy.29
