✨Sometimes I’m overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I’ve lived.

Hi, I’m Abigail and I love to celebrate life, explore the world and tell stories about it. Swipe to see a few highlights from my recent adventures. 🥰

I fell in love with life as a kid, fantasizing grand adventures and telling my brothers endless stories about people and the world. But my first true experience of life happened when I watched my sisters’ birth. That moment touched me deeply—with the power and beauty of life that grows and happens deep inside, in private, as each person develops into a unique masterpiece.

For over ten years I’ve worked with women in the biggest life transitions: from the first pregnancy test, to finding a heartbeat on ultrasound, through pregnancy changes and labor, to the magical moment when I place a new infant skin-to-skin and cut the umbilical cord, to finally going home as a new family. I’ve walked with women through pregnancy losses, risks and rewards, through difficult decisions and through the moments when the earth seemed to fall away in an emergency. I’ve sat with questions that didn’t have answers, navigated my own highs and lows and burnout and transition.

✨ And I’ve learned that the secret to life isn’t control: it’s connection, confidence and learning to embrace it as it comes.

I’m excited to finally integrate everything I love in one space where I can offer and online space to other women to build their own confidence and connection in a major life transition.

I love celebrating birthdays for a living and today is mine! 👩‍⚕️🤰👶

Why do I love celebrating life?

Because each of us was created in secret, as a tiny reflection of God—His beauty, creativity, order, power, leadership—the list is endless. Each person a work of art, each life a story, perfectly placed in time and space for a purpose. And as we discover and express who we were created to be, we find we are part of something so much bigger than we could possibly imagine—the infinite masterpiece of a Sovereign Creator.

“We are His poem—His masterpiece…” -Ephesians 2:10

On a deeper note, the most precious thing life is teaching me is to lean into opportunities, embrace life fully & live with my heart open, even when things don’t go as planned. We are part of something so much greater. ❤️

✨You didn’t know Antelope Canyon had multiple entrances did you?

What to see in Page, Arizona:
📍Lake Powell
📍Antelope Canyon
📍Horseshoe Bend

The crowds were thick in each of these locations—visitors from all over the world all trying to capture just the perfect picture in just the right lighting.

Which canyon entrance is best? Each one is different, but I bought the prime time entry and Navajo guide for the upper canyon. Mystical shafts of light filtering through warm, red rocks make this the most frequently chosen destination. But the reality was that the magic was partly lost in the crowds shuffling through, taking the same pictures, in the same photo spots.

The lighting was stunning, but it wasn’t my favorite experience.

I rented a kayak on the back of Lake Powell and asked about a secret water entrance I’d seen on the map. A coupe of miles of paddling brought me through a narrow watery canyon and to a slot canyon with warm swirls and soft lighting—a secret labyrinth to explore with very few other visitors.

✨This will always win as my favorite kind of experience—private and untouched, like an intimate secret from the rest of the world—just like life should be. ❤️✨

✨What is it about mountains that makes us feel like we are part of something so much bigger?

📍Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Dolomites, Italy

It was bitter cold and snowing in June when we first arrived at the UNESCO World Heritage site. Fog hung thickly, leaving us wondering if we were going to get a clear view of the harsh trio standing almost 10k feet high, like an ancient quest waiting to be conquered.

As we made our way around the craggy mountainside, the fog lifted and the sunlight broke through, radiant and golden warm. In the meadow below wildflowers bloomed and glacier springs bubbled cold and crystal clear. At the end of our journey stood a rough but cozy Refugio—welcoming us with hot cider, beer, and traditional German comfort food. As I relaxed satisfied, my phone buzzed with a text from a mama I was working with to tell me she had started labor, and in that moment I was reminded that the view from the top of the mountains is not the end goal.

But it speaks to every woman’s desire to be swept into a grand adventure, and every man’s desire to go out into the world—through sandy desert wilderness, or Rocky Mountain terrain or wild, reckless oceans—to find his purpose. And for both to return together at the end of every adventure to a celebration of life in the place that feels like home. 🏔️❤️✨

💌 What does coming home look like for you between the highs of adventure?

✨That one moment when something I’d only seen on Instagram became real.

📍Alpe de Suisi, Dolomites, Italy

The soft green grassy slopes warm under bare feet, golden sunshine kissing my skin and peaceful alpine birds singing their little hearts out are my reminder that it’s never only about the moment.

I’d fallen in love with the Dolomites one Instagram picture at a time—but this one was a shared dream.

And the real satisfaction comes from imagining and then creating the blueprint, shared conversations and working out the details (even when things got a little tense or sketchy) and finally leaning back to enjoy the view with someone special. ❤️

Sardinia, Italy is supposedly home to some of the most stunning beaches in the world.

For me it was a last minute trip and I discovered, after arriving, that the most pristine beaches were buried hours down the coast and only accessible by boat.

But the northern coast and the La Madeline Archipelago did not disappoint: white sand beaches, clear blue skies, sparkling crystal water and absolutely stunning views. And windsurfing has now been added to my bucket list. Missed opportunities have a way of clarifying our desires.

Most of my life has felt like compartments, picking and choosing between the things I love & value. In my dream lifestyle the things I love and value integrate together: purposeful living, excitement and adventure, creativity and community, family and love.

Sardinia was the moment these things finally began to come together. ❤️ by @abigailuncharted

✨I never told you the whole story of Venice…

I almost didn’t go—was an Instagram photo in a gondola on the canal really worth six hours in a train?

The floating city is not accessible by car, and as soon as I left the train station and crossed the iconic bridge on foot, I felt like I was stepping into another world cherished and untouched by time.

The narrow, cobbled streets of Venice wind round like the endless alleys and passways of my heart, and old-world architecture lines emerald canals.

Venice holds stories and secrets of Italy’s renaissance glory—the home of Leonardo Da Vinci’s inventions and dreams, rich watercolor pigments, handcrafted leather and linen, and endless arts and theatrics. Delicate hand blown glass filled the stores—each piece a unique work of art, fragile and precious like a memory. And the masks—a reminder of the endless masquerade balls where men and women flirted behind masks, negotiating the future in a timeless dance.

And then I finally boarded a traditional gondola. There was one particular moment in an Italian woman’s life when she finally exchanged her mask for a thin veil, stepped aboard an ornate Gondola and was rowed from the main canal to the Cathedral for her wedding. She would only take this route again for her funeral.

As I explored the winding alleys and canals, I was touched. In so many ways the world has changed—I have a graduate degree, years working in women’s health and can solo travel the world. But deep down, Venice was the moment when I was reminded that life was still an unfinished canvas waiting for me to fill it with rich color, and create lasting memories that are fragile and precious like Venician glass—and I lowered my mask to dream about future and a legacy. ❤️

✨This was the moment I fell in love with Europe.

📍Dubovika Beach, Hvar Island, Croatia

Stepping onto Hvar Island was like stepping into a fairy tale. Cobblestone streets, terra cotta roofs, chapel spires and crisp blue sky and water.

We were traveling in the shoulder season—still warm and balmy during the day, but quite crisp at night. Normally the island is overflowing with tourists, but it was sparse in October, so the locals were welcoming. A good thing, since no restaurants were open and the car rental we’d found online didn’t exist.

We spent our last day in the island searching for the best beach—and finally found it. Trekking down a rugged pathway, we found a quaint little Villa with a sparkling cove and vineyards serving fish and wine and cheeses tucked away out of sight of the main road.

What if all of life was life this? Exploring always just a little off the beaten path, finding secret places, creating unforgettable memories from all the mundane and special moments and someday telling all the stories from the dusty archives to our grandchildren? ❤️✨

✨The view from the weekend.

📍 Tanque Verde Canyon, Tuscon, AZ

There’s this one moment in climbing or rappelling when you lean back and the harness hasn’t caught you yet—and you have to trust that it will.

And it gets easier every time. ❤️✨

✨And then one day I was ready to live again.

The story of death and resurrection is woven into the tapestry of religious practices around the world from ancient times until today. Mankind longs for meaning and for *more.*

But the story of the Bible is a story of a Life so powerful it took every darkness to the bottom of the grave and left it there.

The ancient prophet Isaiah said Jesus would be “pierced for our transgressions (every time we missed the mark)” and “by His wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53). Every darkness, sin, pain and wound of humanity would be taken on His shoulders and atoned for.

Three years ago I’d committed to reading the story of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection in the days leading up to Easter. I’d been developing trauma informed care training for the pregnancy clinic I was managing. Psychologist have identified three core wounds of mankind: betrayal, rejection and abandonment. Leading up to the cross, Jesus encountered each of these, with the final one being the deepest wound of all humanity: abandonment by the Father. Then he faced death.

But death could not triumph over Him. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead brings hope to all mankind. The Life of God holds the power to break every mental, emotional and spiritual chain to bring freedom. It heals every wound and triumphs over death to bring life and peace and unity.

✨The most powerful offer in the universe is this: eternal life in Jesus.

And it is offered fully and freely to the world. ❤️✨
