We’re open today, Monday, until 4:30! Both doors are thrown wide open to soak in this beautiful autumn weather while we’re here unexpectedly because we have some guests from Hungary who are gonna stop in for a visit. They are the Hungarian side of the Rotary Friendship Exchange in which Debe participated in last fall.

Today we’re updating our Flavors of the Month for May:
🫒 Harissa Olive Oil
🍇 Strawberry Dark Balsamic
🍇 Mango White Balsamic

The flavors we’re almost out of are the Strawberry Kiwi Rose’ Balsamic (3 bottles) & the Pineapple White Balsamic (6 bottles). Still have the delicious Cilantro & Roasted Onion Olive Oil available.

Also, the Chetoui high-phenol olive oil has arrived and is available with a ppm of 733😳 Very heart healthy with aromatic notes of dandelion greens and sweet berry on the finish.

Recipe alert! If you love our Cara Cara Orange - Vanilla Balsamic and have been looking for a way to use it, this recipe is perfect! Especially if you want a cozy homemade dish to savor this weekend😋

Cara Cara Orange – Vanilla Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

Filling
2 lbs apples, cored, peeled, & sliced ¼” thick
¼ cup light brown sugar
1 Tbsp Cara Cara Orange – Vanilla White Balsamic
1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp salt

Crisp Topping:

9 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp Cara Cara Orange – Vanilla White Balsamic
¾ cup all-purpose flour
1 cup old fashioned oats
½ cup light brown sugar, tightly packed
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¾ tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375°F, lightly oil a 9×9 or 11×7 glass baking dish with EVOO

To make the filling, in a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, balsamic, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until the apples are well coated. Set aside.

To make the topping, in a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and balsamic. In a separate bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Pour the butter/balsamic mixture into the dry ingredients and stir with a fork until clumpy.

Spread the apple mixture evenly in your prepared pan sprinkling the crumb topping evenly over the apples.

Bake for 45–50 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Scoop warm crisp into bowls, top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and finish with a drizzle of your EVOO.

So pleased today to be able to share our delicious olive oils & balsamic vinegars with guests at the Snohomish Chamber Wine Festival held at Thomas Family Farm.

We offered three pairings to highlight different categories of what we offer:
🫒Frantoio Extra Virgin Olive Oil paired with our Traditional 18-yr aged dark balsamic from Italy
🫒Tuscan Herb Infused Olive paired with our 12-yr aged Sicilian Lemon White Balsamic
🫒 Persian Lime Olive Oil paired with our newer Rose’ Balsamic

Each of them unique and delicious in their own way 😋

Since we’re at the center of the town where the bridge crosses the Snohomish River, it continues to be an exciting day at the shop with 100’s of people taking a look as the river continues to rise. Our parking lot & flower beds have been overrun with people taking a look at nature’s drama, and thankfully some popped in to check us out, so we’ve gained a few new friends in the process, but we are saddened by the negative impact on so many as the river broke its banks & continues to flood areas😢.

We’ve had a front row view all day as the waters have risen a couple of feet from yesterday. At first many logs were freely flowing down the river with one catching once in a while on the bridge pillar, but eventually breaking loose. But about 3:00pm, a super long one caught sideways and more debris accumulated without breaking free, so there is quite a snag of logs there now. All afternoon we’ve watched spectators come and go as they watch from the edge of the bridge that is right next to us.

These videos were taken just a little after 4pm as dusk was falling. The rain has slackened on and off this afternoon but more is predicted tonight. We hope everyone stays safe and sound until these waters recede!
