Seit dem Aufkommen akkubetriebener Geräte wird unser Alltag maßgeblich durch deren
Ladezyklen beeinflusst. Dieses Projekt entwickelt eine neue Perspektive auf den physischen
Vorgang des Ladens. Entstanden ist dabei eine Kabeltrommel für den Wohnraum, die sich als
eigenständiges Objekt positioniert. Die Gestaltung stellt die alltägliche Nutzung in den
Vordergrund und reduziert das Objekt auf das Wesentliche. Das Kabel kann durch einen
Drehmechanismus leicht aufgerollt werden, welcher über den Stecker am Ende arretiert wird.
Zusätzlich ermöglicht ein Akku die Nutzung an Orten ohne festen Stromanschluss, wie
beispielsweise im Garten, auf dem Balkon oder wenn das Kabel mal doch nicht ganz reicht.
Bei regulärer Nutzung an der Steckdose, wird der Akku mitgeladen, sodass kein zusätzlicher
Anschluss erforderlich ist. Mit 50.000 mAh reicht die Kapazität für etwa 15 Handy- oder 2
PC-Ladungen.

Since the advent of battery-powered devices, our daily lives have been significantly influenced
by their charging cycles. This project offers a new perspective on the physical process of
charging. The result is a cable drum for the living space that functions as a standalone object.
The design prioritizes everyday use and reduces the object to its essentials. The cable can be
easily wound up using a rotating mechanism, which locks into place via the plug at the end.
In addition, a rechargeable battery allows for use in locations without a permanent power
connection, such as in the garden, on the balcony, or when the cable isn’t quite long enough.
During regular use plugged into an outlet, the battery charges automatically, so no additional
connection is required. With a capacity of 50,000 mAh, it’s enough for about 15 cell phone charges or 2 PC charges. by @abk_id

Conventional power banks often feel like additional technical devices that have to be deliberately carried and are therefore easily forgotten.

This project explores how charging functions can be integrated into everyday objects that people already carry with them.

At first glance, they appear to be an ordinary padlock, hair tie, or measuring tape. Only when they are opened, pulled out, or used does the charging function become visible.

Rather than focusing solely on technical functionality, Noch zehn Minuten, bitte. examines the transformation of objects through everyday use, their portability, and the small element of surprise created in the process.

Das Konzept „Studio Chair“ vereint einfach verarbeitete Halbzeuge, seriell gefertigte Verbindungselemente und 3D-gedruckte Komponenten zu einem funktionalen Klappstuhl, dessen Formsprache durch die Möglichkeiten und Limitierungen der verwendeten Elemente definiert ist. Bestimmend sind dabei vor allem die gedruckten Komponenten, die hinsichtlich ihrer Druckbarkeit (auf
Extrudern) und der Belastung, der sie ausgesetzt sind, optimiert wurden, um die Stabilität des Stuhls auch unter hoher Last zu gewährleisten.

The ‘Studio Chair’ concept combines simply machined semi-finished products, mass-produced connecting elements and 3D-printed components to create a functional folding chair whose design language is defined by the possibilities and limitations of the elements used. PAPER TUBE SHELF

Hauptprojekt IN BETWEEN SoSe25

DE:
Ein Regalsystem zwischen Boden und Decke, das aus dem Prinzip des Stapelns
hervorgeht. Die einzelnen Module bestehen aus Hartpapierhülsen und definieren zum
einen die Abstände zwischen den einzelnen Regalböden und sind zum anderen
maßgeblich für die Struktur des Regals verantwortlich. Die Verbindungen der einzelnen
Module werden durch das „Keilverbinder“ System gelöst, wodurch das Regal schnell auf
und wieder abgebaut werden kann. Die Modularität des Systems ermöglicht auch die
Anpassung an unterschiedliche Raumgegebenheiten.

A shelving system between the floor and ceiling that is based on the stacking principle.
The individual modules consist of hard paper tubes and define the distances between the
individual shelves and are also largely responsible for the structure of the shelving. The
connections between the individual modules are released by the „Keilverbinder“
system, allowing the shelving to be quickly assembled and disassembled. The modularity
of the system also allows it to be adapted to different spatial conditions.

Eine Glocke, die erst existiert, wenn sie sich dreht: Durch die Rotation eines Kreisels entsteht aus Licht eine scheinbar schwebende Glockenform. „Auf Teufel komm raus“ verbindet Ritual, Illusion und ein leichtes Gefühl des Unbehagens zu einem kurzen, unwirklichen Moment.

Deutsch:
In der Frage nach einem ruhigen Umgang mit Alarmobjekten spürt das Projekt den leisen
Tönen jener Dinge nach, die sonst laut, grell oder drängend auftreten. Warnlicht,
Schwimmweste und Signalpfeife werden beruhigt, entschärft und verfremdet.So richtet sich
der Blick auf einen Ausschnitt des Repertoires an Warnzeichen und die Frage, was
geschieht, wenn man ihnen ihre Dringlichkeit nimmt. Gestalterisch transformiert und ihrer
Alarmhaftigkeit entkleidet behalten sie ihre Bedeutung – jedoch in reduzierter Lautstärke.

Englisch:
In exploring the question of a calmer approach to alarm objects, the project traces the
quieter tones of things that usually appear loud, glaring, or urgent. Warning light, life jacket,
and signal whistle are softened, disarmed, and estranged. In doing so, it focuses on a
selection from our repertoire of warning signs and asks what happens when their sense of
urgency is removed. Through design transformations that strip them of their alarmist
character, they retain their meaning—though in a reduced volume.
