The World Sailing Inclusion World Championships 2026 took place in Portimão, Portugal, bringing together 222 sailors from 40 countries across the full spectrum of para and inclusive sailing.
Event Dates
•	October 1–3: Inclusive Development Programme (IDP), training, onboarding, and classification
•	October 4–10: Main racing across all fleets
This event is called the Inclusion Championships because it is designed to be the world’s most inclusive high performance sailing competition, where Para classified, unclassified, visually impaired, intellectually impaired, and physically impaired sailors all competed on the same international stage.
Fleets & Equipment: The championships featured a wide range of para and inclusive classes:
•	2.4mR: Para Technical One Person Keelboat
•	Hansa 303: Para & Inclusive one and two person keelboats
•	RS Venture Connect SCS: Para Inclusive two person keelboat
•	Vision Impairment Keelboat Fleet Racing
•	Challenger Trimaran (multihull)
•	Intellectual Impairment Keelboat
•	Para WingFoil (demo) was introduced as an exciting new inclusive discipline
World Sailing categorizes single person equipment into technical and non technical classes:
•	Technical Class (2.4mR): high performance, open rule keelboats requiring advanced tuning and tactical mastery
•	Non Technical Classes (Hansa 303): standardized boats focused on accessibility and broad participation
This multi discipline structure is central to the event’s Inclusion identity. In the 2.4mR Para Technical Fleet Para Canadian Peter Eagar won Silver and 5th overall in the inclusive results (including able bodied sailors)
On the Podium:
• Marko Dahlberg (Finland)
• Peter Eagar (Canada)
• Rikard Bjurström (Finland)
In the RS Venture Connect SCS, a 2 person spinnaker sailboat, Tracy Schmitt & Igor Momot placed 14th overall, with their top race finish being 8th place.
Huge congratulations to all Canadian athletes competing, they showed depth, teamwork, integrity and world class competitiveness on the international stage.
We are proud of our Canadian team.

Post‑Mobility Cup 2026 cleanup is officially underway.
After unloading the CN containers, our Martin 16s were brought to Karen‑Ann’s house for a full, detailed wash‑down — a routine we follow after every Mobility Cup.

Salt water is tough on equipment, so every single item gets a thorough cleaning to keep our boats safe, gear and accessories reliable, and ready for the next season.
It’s a big job, but it’s part of what keeps Able Sail Toronto strong.

A big thank‑you to Classic Towing for supporting Able Sail Toronto once again with expert tilt‑and‑load service for our Martin 16 sailboats. Getting the boats safely in and out of the CN containers is no small task, and their professionalism makes all the difference.

We were especially glad to see Leroy again this year — his skill, care, and calm confidence mean we’re always in the best of hands. Classic Towing’s continued support helps us move boats efficiently and safely so our sailors can participate fully at Mobility Cup.

We’re grateful for your partnership and your commitment to accessible sailing.
Thank you, Classic Towing!

Thank you Canadian National Railway Company (CNRail)

Your support in transporting our Martin 16 sailboats to Vancouver and bringing them safely back to Toronto is a tremendous contribution to accessible sailing in Canada.

Each year, CN delivers a container ahead of Mobility Cup, and with CNTL’s trucking services and a flatbed tow truck, our boats are carefully loaded and moved across the country by rail and truck. This logistical support removes a major geographical barrier and ensures that sailors from Able Sail clubs across the CN network can participate fully.

Your commitment strengthens national participation, expands access, and helps make Mobility Cup a truly inclusive event.
We are deeply grateful.
Thank you, CN!

🦭🦀🪶 Vancouver's marine life put on quite a show for us today!

While preparing for Mobility Cup 2026 at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, we were treated to visits from three curious harbour seals, who seemed just as interested in us as we were in them. A majestic great blue heron stopped by Jericho Beach for a well-earned rest, and along the shoreline we spotted several crabs, including the iconic Dungeness crab and red rock crab that are commonly found in local waters.
It's moments like these that remind us how special it is to be on the water. Between the sailing, the friendships, and the incredible West Coast wildlife, Vancouver continues to impress us every day.

⛵💙 Mobility Cup 2026 is already creating unforgettable memories, both on and off the water.

Not all of today's visitors arrived by boat! 🦭⛵

Armin made a new friend at Mobility Cup 2026 when a curious harbour seal stopped by for a little conversation and a few playful antics. The seal seemed just as excited about all the activity around the marina as we were!

Moments like these remind us that life on the water is always full of surprises.
