Forever to go 💍 “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭15‬-‭16 by @ablin.kendall

LLL🤍 This year, camp was different. Our church family experienced a tragedy with the loss of Langston Britton, an amazing and faithful young man who was on fire for God.Initially, it was easy to fall into doubt, questioning why God would take such a good kid from such a good family. I spent days wrestling with God, unable to understand why it had to be him and why his family had to endure this. But God has continuously revealed His presence to me and shown me His hand in all of it. The Britton family’s response truly changed my perception of everything. If they could give glory to God through this immense loss, if they could continue to pray for others and point them toward the Lord, and if they could trust that God will use Langston’s life, then why was I the one doubting Him?A few days after Langston’s passing, I reached out to his parents, hoping to offer them some encouragement. Instead, I was met with @sherrardbritton calling me. He was the one encouraging me, speaking truth over me, and expressing his gratitude. It was in that moment that I saw a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love. Just as we turn to the Lord in our brokenness, not deserving of His grace or patience, He meets us with boundless love. In a similar way, I came to Sherrard to offer what little I had, and he, in his immense grief, poured out encouragement and strength to me. This family is a true testament to the Lord’s light, and it has been a blessing to see how God has worked through them.Being at SBR a few weeks ago was hard, but God’s presence was undeniable. I was constantly reminded that it’s okay to be angry and to be sad. The real question is how you will respond: Will you run away, or will you draw near? Through much prayer and wrestling, this week became a time of healing and a lesson in learning to trust the goodness of our God. We may not always know what He is doing or why He is doing it, but that doesn’t make Him any less good. Thank you, God, for who You are and who You always will be. by @ablin.kendall
