Recording my story in pictures.
For those I love, those I meet, and the road ahead.
The journey itself is home. 🧡

It’s a lie to say that attending a court hearing isn’t stressful, especially with dyslexia, a foreign tongue, and no legal aid in sight. But, like all of life’s trials, you navigate it one step at a time.

The hardest steps are those that leave heartache behind. Though the journey is tough and the path may be long, even heartache will heal, one day, in the song of time. by @abntouch

It’s been a beautiful but very long day, without them! by @abntouch

The man walked on like a warrior, carrying the weight of years and battles unseen.

He passed a little bear made of pumpkins.

But the boy within him gently took the reins.

“Wait, let’s take a picture.”

And for a moment, the warrior stood still, while the boy captured a little piece of a world where happiness came easily, wonder lived in the smallest things, and carefree days were still a fresh memory.

Somewhere along the way, the boy had grown older. Thankfully, he had never quite grown up. 🍂🎃 by @abntouch

The 18th #sunset 🎃🍁🍂 by @abntouch

He had finished his dinner,
and I was clearing up our makeshift dinner table.

He gently pressed his empty Pepsi can a few times, looked at it and whispered, “This is art,” before carefully placing it on the table.

I said nothing.

When I’d finished washing up, I placed his teddy next to the can and started looking for the best angle to photograph his little masterpiece.

“What are you doing, Baba?” he asked.

“Capturing your artwork.”

He smiled.

I think he’d assumed his little creation, and the words he’d whispered, had gone unnoticed.

But they hadn’t.

There was something in that smile. A quiet satisfaction. The kind that comes from knowing you are seen, that your little things matter, that you belong.

The kind of feeling you should have at home.

Your own home.

And I thought to myself, this is my home.

Not quite the home I once imagined, perhaps. Not everything in its place, not every dream fulfilled.

And the end of the road? Still hidden somewhere in the mist.

But there is a road.

And there is a reason to keep walking. ❤️ by @abntouch

Not that I’m full of myself, but I think I’m learning to love myself a little more these days. 😏

Not that I’ve made it in life either, but behind every man there’s a trail of photographs taken on days he’d rather forget.

And then, every now and again, Apple’s Photos decides to turn them into a little movie. Thanks, Apple! 😂

Four years ago today.

Looking at these pictures, I remember a man trying to get through some of the longest days of his life, holding on to one simple hope.

Funny how life works.

Four years later, on this very day, I picked up my son from school. That beautiful smile on his face when he saw me was worth more than anything words could describe.

Not every battle is over.
Not every question has an answer.
And the road ahead is still uncertain.

But somewhere between those pictures and today, I’ve learned that life has its seasons. Some are darker than others, but none lasts forever.

Still here. Still standing.
Still occasionally posing for the camera. 😎

And still believing in beautiful things to come. 🍂

Before the market wakes…
Mum brought the little one out to explore the old docks, hidden beneath the morning mist. 🦢

Dark buildings. Golden skies.
Funny how a little light can change the whole view.

Not everything needs an answer today.
Some days are simply for walking, looking around, and letting life unfold. 🍂

Somewhere between #summer and #autumn , between staying and going…
The gravity of the tracks pulled me onward again.
No guarantees but some journeys are still worth another chance. by @abntouch

One of those nights… 🌙🔥

Somewhere along the way, you stop worrying about how old you are and start caring about how alive you feel.

Firelight, good people, strange places… and whatever comes next. by @abntouch

Some silences are answers.
Some are just waiting to be broken. by @abntouch
