To maintain the good looks of your Abodo timber weatherboards, it is necessary to wash them every year. With Spring’s arrival in the Southern Hemisphere is a good time to get that scheduled in.

Swipe to see our top tips for washing them.

After three years of weathering in the harsh Western Australian climate, the Black Box home by Valento Homes remains a showcase of Vulcan Cladding.

Coated in the rich, deep tones of Protector™ - Ebony, the timber performed exceptionally well - proving you can achieve sustainable design and bold aesthetics without compromise. 🖤

Thermally modified for exceptional dimensional stability, Vulcan is built to handle hot, dry conditions while maintaining its dark finish and high-impact style for years to come.

The cladding had one factory coat of Protector - Ebony, and then two more after installation.

Perched high on the cliffs above Scarborough Beach, Vantage Point House combines bold engineering with timber chosen to handle the elements.

To anchor the home against coastal winds and sun, @map_architects_nz specified Abodo Vulcan timber for its exceptional dimensional stability and weather resistance on exposed sites.

The dark, modern finish of Vulcan Cladding in Protector – Ebony creates a striking contrast against the silvered soffits and louvres crafted using Vulcan Panelling and Screening. The result is an adaptable, weather-ready home that blends seamlessly into the coastal landscape.

New wrap. Same timber. ♻️

We’re rolling out our updated packaging, designed in partnership with GoodWrap Recycling.
Made from 100% recycled plastic waste and completely recyclable, this new wrap is another way we package and protect our timber.

A small change with a positive impact: giving plastic a second life, closing the loop, and building a more circular future. We're always looking for ways to do better, and this is another step in that journey.

Perched at the southern edge of Sumner Beach, Sumner House responds to a tricky triangular site with a clever architectural twist. By slicing a single gabled form in two, @rtastudio created separate living and sleeping pavilions that step gracefully with the coastal contours. Clad in Vulcan timber.

Awarded the Reader’s Choice in @homeofarchitecture.nz 2024 Home of the Year.

Elevating outdoor living at Pōhuehue House.

The sheltered outdoor patio is framed by Vulcan® timber soffits, wrapping seamlessly into the exterior wall linings. The defining highlight? A striking circular roof cutout (oculus) lined with vertical timber, designed to frame the sky and bring natural light deep into the covered alfresco space.

“To keep the maintenance down, I wanted to use Abodo for exterior locations where it's quite sheltered, like on the soffits, and for the wall linings in the covered outdoor area that connects up all the indoor living spaces.” - Felicity Brenchley, Architect & Homeowner
