NorCal camping roadtrip 2025: 10 days, 1,000 miles! 🐻 🌲 ⛺️

We didn’t know what we signed up doing a week of camping in bear country, so we headed to the coast to finish it off. California is the 🐐

It wasn’t all shredding the gnar in Whistler! ⛷️ Spent some time learning how to dog sled with some new 🐕 friends. (swipe to the end for my highlight video)

BC is cold, but too warm for what you think of when you think sled dogs, so these guys and gals are bred for the “warmer” conditions (some are rescues and our leader was an Iditarod winner(!) 🥇 from 2022).

One word for 2024: busy! Five continents and 16 countries. Started the year Down Under 🦘, had knee surgery in Feb, so no ski pics. 😔

We managed to be in exactly the wrong place (Jordan) at the wrong time (April, when Iran fired rockets), which meant we called an audible and went to Cyprus, which was a happy accident. 🏝️ Afterwards, I ditched Leigh’s Berlin work conference early to checkout Istanbul: wow

We went back to 🇯🇵, mostly to eat. 🤤

We went to THE OLYMPICS and we’re now hooked (see ya in LA 😉)

We were left speechless by the beauty of Zanzibar’s beaches, culture, and diving. Went to Malaysia for the first time. Got in plenty of California travel 🐻

After being part of tech layoffs in 2023, I finally landed a job in August. 13 months was a looong time. 😮‍💨

Most important, we had lots of quality time with family and friends, because it’s not just what you do, but who you do it with that makes it memorable. Having just watched the fireworks over Hong Kong, I can definitely say 2024 was a great year.
