I’m heartbroken over the loss of a true Miami graffiti and hip-hop giant. Max aka Seam, was in my eyes the King of Miami graffiti and a major influence on my own style. My cousins lived in Wynwood and went to Jackson High, and I still remember being completely blown away whenever I’d visit and see his work.

Miami had no shortage of talented writers in the 80s, but Seam’s style stood apart. I’ll never forget the awe I felt seeing his Seam 17 burner on 7th Ave or the Radio 2000 rooftop. His work had such polish and confidence that I was sure he was a veteran from New York until I realized he was pure Miami, an original and a master of many styles. He never stopped being a student of the game, always pushing, always evolving.
