Follow along to make this is a Suya 5-Spice Honey-Glazed Tofu & Kale Stir-Fry (Recipe on last slide)

My favorite thing about MY love for food is when I get an idea I cannot get out of my head🙂‍↕️

I've had this suya stir fry idea for about 1 week, and I finally executed it.

When I get inspired like this, I'm learning to write down my thoughts so I CAN remember when I actually have the time to cook.

The Tofu held together VERY nicely in this, and the Suya + 5-Spice + Honey.... GENIUS if I do say so myself! taken in Raleigh, North Carolina by @abonnetable

Our first vending event!!! If you've ever attended one of our house parties or catered events, you know that I put so much love and intentionality into every dish and sometimes ... I...do...too...much...

In order to vend, I had to be super selective about the food options for several reasons

1. Time was limited (I had 24 hrs to shop and cook after returning from a trip)
2. This was a fitness event, nobody wants anything that's heavy and is going to weigh them down. But also they need substance and a little treat!
3. I wanted to offer hand-held/snack size portions that would have you asking for more.

So on this particular menu we had
- Puff Puff
- Mini Meat Pie
- Jerk Mushroom No-Meat Pie
- Fruit Cup
- Sauce Verte (MY green sauce/Epis)

Plate Check: Cooking Demo Recap 6/27/2026
I remember going to @tasteofblk She Blooms event in March of 2025 with the goal of connecting with @nourish_throughnutrition, the co-founder of @eatwellexchange because I wanted to learn more about what they were doing and eventually collaborate on something.

Jasmine came to our house months later and I made her Crevettes DG (a pescatarian take on Poulet DG 🇨🇲). While I was cooking, we drank some wine and had little keke. I talked about the origin of the dish, the history, Cameroun, myself and much more. When she took the first bite, she could immediately feel the love and intention that was used to prepare the dish.

When she asked me to do a LIVE cooking demo making and talking about the nutritional benefits of Camerounian food, I thought she was joking 😃, but I accepted the challenge!

This past March, I participated in my first EatWell Exchange cooking demo at @ser_ymca. Fast forward to 3 months later, I had my VERY FIRST solo cooking demo....and these are some photos that my wonderful friend @maligallery_ took (book her for event photography).

We paired the demo with some nutrition education games and a small group discussion.

The peace I feel in the kitchen regardless if I'm alone, there's one person, or an entire audience, I finally understand this is how God wants to use me.

I look forward to walking in my purpose!

Isaiah 32:17: The fruit of righteousness will be peace; it's effect will be quietness and confidence forever

lsaiah 26:3: God will keep in "perfect peace" those whose minds are steadfast and focused on Him.

Just a couple of days until Plate Check at the South East Raleigh YMCA!

Here's a recap of the last demo we participated in: Food Connects Us.
Where we learned how to make Bahamian Boiled Fish 🇧🇸, Plant Based Eru 🇨🇲, and Collard Greens W/ Black Eyed Peas 🇺🇲.

Along the way, we learned the health benefits of some of the ingredients as well as how food connects us through the Diaspora. We had a free farmer's market and some awesome vendors (@qwellness_ & @zoeywithatwist ) show off their products.

THIS SATURDAY JUNE 27 AT NOON! We're doing it again except THIS time, we're getting active and playing nutrition related games like "This or That" "Myth Busters" and "Hot Takes".

👩🏾‍🍳Chef Kelyne has entered the chat!!! [LONG POST ALERT]
I had my first public cooking demo this past weekend… and I’m still sitting with how special that felt. Thank you @eatwellexchange for trusting me 🫰🏾

For so long, cooking has been something I’ve done in my own spaces (at home, with friends, for my people).

So to step into a space where I was sharing Cameroonian food and culture with a broader audience, people who may have never heard of eru, or palm oil, or waterleaf, that meant a lot more to me than I expected.

It felt like… Finally I'm aligning with my God given gift.

And the funny thing is that when I think about it, this didn’t just start yesterday.

There’s an idea from Outliers by #MalcolmGladwell about the 10,000-hour rule — that mastery comes from time, repetition, and deep practice.

And while I’ve never tracked it, I can honestly say I’ve probably put close to that into cooking over the years. All the small moments, the everyday meals, the trial and error, they added up to this moment where I could stand in front of a room and share something I truly know and love.

And that means SOOOOO much.

Because what I want to do now is shine a light on Cameroonian food; not just as something “exotic” or unfamiliar, but as something deeply intentional, nutritious, and rooted in generations of knowledge.

The truth is, long before “plant-based” became a trend, our foods have always been built around:

greens,legumes,spices,balance

Which is why I was especially excited to present everyone with a plant-based version of #eru.

Taking something so traditional and asking:
How do I keep the soul of this dish… while making it accessible in a new way?

And honestly? I loved that challenge.

This feels like the beginning of something.

More cooking demos.
More classes.
More storytelling through food.
More spaces where our culture is centered and appreciated.

So yes… you can go ahead and start calling me Chef Kelyne or Chef KK now 😌👩🏾‍🍳
And if you're looking for: cooking classes, live demos
🇨🇲Food experiences ..you already know who to call.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, tasted, and engaged.

Love you much!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ taken in Southeast Raleigh YMCA by @abonnetable
