My Rating Scale~ As a writer myself I have a love hate relationship with the typical 5 star scale. Rarely have I read a book that warrants less than a 3, and even if I did I wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing that rating publicly. So I simply choose not to share my star ratings— unless the book is a 5 star, or, in the case that I’m rating a series as a whole! How do you choose to rate books? Do you use other readers ratings to decide whether or not to read a book? HAPPY RELEASE DAY! Stalkers Anonymous was one of my favorite memorable, and totally bingeable, reads of August! Cole and Hailey (aka Coke and Hayride) stole my heart from their first meet-cute. The premise? Cole, was recently hired by a security firm under the condition that he participates in IBSG (aka “Stalkers Anonymous”) for crossing lines with his sisters abusive ex. Meanwhile Hailey, an ER resident, is struggling with a drug-seeking patient that begins to hyper-fixate on her. When push comes to ✨literal✨ shove Cole is forced to face his own behavior to help them both find the peace they deserve. There were so many little suspenseful moments within this story it felt like the perfect blend of tame thriller and romcom! 🔄 WEEKLY WRAP 🔄 The first week of February is where January’s reading speed came to die. Mainly because (and I wish I was kidding) everyone and their mother (yes mine included) decided to get ill at the same time. Even our dog gave me a run for my money when she decided it was a good time to start limping for no apparent reason. And just when I finally survived to see the weekend— long enough to celebrate my friends bachelorette and return all 55 books my daughter insisted we borrow from the library— we borrowed 35 more and brought home another virus to boot 😵‍💫😭 Winter can kiss my 🍑 lol I’m over it! taken in BOOKSTA by @abookishmaze

💕 DOUBLE POST 💕 After a four month hiatus who says you can’t kick off your booksta journey with a little double trouble? I’m working on making time for myself and my hobbies. Reading is my safe space, and between my pregnancy and the continuous negative news cycle I feel like it’s the only thing I can lean into that makes me feel *normal*. I can’t promise that I’ll be more active on here, it’s hard keeping up with social media while juggling a toddler, puppy, house chores, errands and my own mental and physical health. But I’m making a renewed effort to share what I can, when I can. 🐦‍🔥 CURRENT READ 🐦‍🔥 Okay if you know me, or if this series has come up in conversation, then you probably know how much of a Raihn-Hater I am after his stunt at the end of SatWoN. Then AatSCK almost redeemed my opinion of him if it hadn’t been for the abundance of plot armor this man had (and don’t even get me started on the “there she is” repetition. If I had a shot for every time I read that phrase I would’ve blacked out by the second act.) BUT I DIGRESS! I’m still a big fan of Broadbent’s narration and incredibly unique gothic/vampiric world building. So much so that I actually loved the Six Scorched Roses novella the most out of the series.. up until now! Vale and Lilith had, imo, a tangibly genuine romantic build up. But man do Mische and Asar blow that out of the water!! The tension and uncertainty between them only heightens the very obvious chemistry they share. All while Broadbent uses their relationship to delve into important discussions surrounding religion, blind-faith, self doubt, and morality. To say this is a bingeable read would be an understatement. The only reason I wasn’t able to finish it in under 24hrs was that I’m a full time parent! 🖤 BEASTY RECS 🖤 I finished the behemoth “A Soul to Keep” last night by @opalreyne and let me tell you 5⭐️ ALL THE WAY AROUND! The only thing that made me want to drop a fraction of a point was the length but honestly even thinking about it now I enjoyed every scene! It was surprisingly wholesome for a dark monster-F*cking romance (and if you’re my family reading this: warning stop now before we make the upcoming holiday season weird lol) In the spirit of fall I wanted to recommend some other great monster reads! From tame (For the Wolf) which featured closed door spice to reaper chili pepper hot (A Soul to Keep🥵) I loved all four of these recommendations!
