The AGs are seeking patient information, asking for “complete identification of the individuals...to whom [plaintiffs] prescribed and dispensed abortion drugs” to cross-check against Medicaid databases.

I really hope people understand that stories like this are not anomalies or “mistakes.” They’re not the result of hospitals misunderstanding the law or legislative growing pains.

It’s no secret that anti-abortion states are increasingly trying to trap residents under their abortion bans—whether by trying to prevent abortion pills from getting in, or patients from getting out.

@ifwhenhow attorney Elizabeth Ling tells @abortioneveryday’s Kylie Cheung that Sue’s* case “really illustrates that abortion bans and travel bans don’t have to be explicit.”

“I am stressed out more than I was with one daughter,” Sue says. “Who will take my baby and my daughter if they [the county] come for me again? That’s what worries me now.”

I’ve been tracking this for years now, so a few important things to know:

1) The goal is to open up a new legal front for attacking abortion: environmental law.

2) Antis are pushing related bills that mandate women use "catch kits” to bag up miscarriage and abortion remains as toxic medical waste

3) The group behind the effort, Students for Life, has outright admitted it’s all bullshit.

VP Kristi Hamrick said environmental law wasn’t her ”first weapon of choice” but ”frankly, I’m for using the devil’s own tools against them.” 🤡
