And through this amazing experience comes a little film about a lonely hotel manager. I can't wait to share it with the world.

HOTEL PARAÍSO is a film about resilience and human connection, despite the odds.

We conceived, shot, and edited this film in 9 days on the island of São Miguel under the mentorship of @wernerherzogofficial and the incredible support of @extatica_cine

Dare I say it, the real paraíso was the friends we made along the way. Until we meet again, you brilliant people 💛

With heavy hearts, we share that Burd has passed away at the age of 110.

He lived a remarkable life defined by love, war, grief, and a commitment to showing up for others.

Getting to know the nation's oldest person so intimately has been transformative for us, and has taught this young filmmaker so much about how to make the most of your life. As he once told me, "You gotta keep your wits about you somehow".

With his family's blessing, we share the first 50 seconds of our film about his life, BURD.

Grateful to have known him. by @abraamdawod
