This past year @csmission commissioned us to tell the story of Mr. Womack for their year-end fundraising campaign. CSM felt like Mr. Womack perfectly encapsulated the spirit of their organization and wanted to shine light on his involvement. He first encountered CSM when they did a service project on his home. His appreciation was so immense that he in turn began volunteering his time & talents for future CSM service projects in his neighborhood. Mr. Womack rides his bike each day to meet the members of the home repair team - continuing to give back to the organization that impacted him so greatly. by @abryanphoto

I was thrilled when the @seesparkgo team hired us to capture images for their client, @magnoliabakery. Magnolia was revamping their franchising efforts and needed fresh brand imagery to accompany a wide variety of collateral.

This assignment was a sprint and a blast. It sent me and my team all around NYC capturing 5 different locations. Thanks to @brittanythoms of SSG for always bringing the good vibes and belief that we can pull anything off. Also thanks to the Magnolia team - y'all are a dream! by @abryanphoto

He did it!! Gavin Johnson Class of 2026

Before heading into a new season of life, I want to mark the end of this season and take a moment to look back on 12 years of education for Gavin. This was not an easy path at all for him! As a dyslexic, school was a real struggle. So in order to meet his much needed accommodations, he was homeschooled for high school. I headed up his education with the assistance of the Brookhills Homeschool Co-op! That was a great fit for him and he had awesome teachers there. He and I spent so much time together these past 4 years. We probably had more hard days than good days tbh. But by God's grace and help, we persevered to get him over the finish line.

Homeschooling him was one of the hardest things I've done as a parent - trying to be mom and teacher. But it sharpened and strengthened me. There was joy too! My favorite days were the ones where he was on the couch playing guitar while we talked about good literature, and he dictated an essay to me. I also loved the days where he cooked our dinner and I read aloud to him. He wrote an essay called "My Hidden Gift" about his dyslexia. It's my favorite thing he wrote because he is gifted in so many ways that are outside the academic box. You just can't test on paper what he's good at! He's a photographer who develops his own film, an amazing chef, a talented barista, and a killer bass player. He loves people fiercely and is the most loyal friend. He's empathetic and truly sees and meets other people's needs. He gives the best hugs. I am so proud of the man of character he is becoming.

His plans after high school don't include college and I'm great with that! In fact I'm thrilled that he wants to find an alternative path that fits him. He's got a full time job learning wood working. I can't wait to see how the Lord shapes his unique path. He's been a gift to me as we walked this road together. I'm grateful it's done because he has so much more to do and learn in life. He's ready to launch! by @abryanphoto

School Portraits - Crestwood Day School, 2025. @crestwood_day_school

I wanted to share the Crestwood Day images sooner - but we had a very important make up session to account for. Our cover image here is Mr. Judah Castle who has been courageously battling Leukemia over this past year. So thrilled I got the chance to capture this incredible young man - and all of the remarkable young students. Included here are a few of my favorites. by @abryanphoto

It's been an honor to have had a front row seat as my friend and studio mate @dylanehurd worked on his short film for the better part of a year. I've been able to lend a helping hand when asked - but I mostly just observed the tough task of telling a beautiful & vulnerable story about growing up. I'm so excited for this project to finally be out in the world and for people to connect with this story. But I will miss our existential convos over morning coffee about how to gracefully inhabit time. Included here are some images I captured along the way.

In February of 2006 I was handed a remarkable photo assignment - document former president Jimmy Carter teaching Sunday school at his church in Plains, GA (Marantha Baptist Church) and then capture his portrait over lunch at the local meat ’n’ three (Kountry Kitchen). My friend @thetaylorbruce was conducting the interview and writing the article. He pitched me for capturing the visuals. Taylor and I were both young upstarts in our respective fields and probably didn’t calculate the magnitude of the opportunity. Maybe this was for the better. But off we went to Plains on a Saturday afternoon for our biggest assignment of our career. We stayed at the local bed-and-breakfast in the “presidential suite” sharing a king size bed.

I chose to only bring my Mamiya RZ 67, a Holga and 8 rolls of black and white film. No digital back up. I still get the cold sweats thinking about what if something had gone wrong with one of those rolls. None the less - I went full send on how I wanted to capture the day.

Sunday School began at 10 am followed but the Sunday worship service at 11 - all taking place in the quaint sanctuary. Visitors from all over the world queued out front before Sunday school and we were grateful to have a seat saved on the 2nd row with the Carters. It was the perfect spot for capturing intimate moments of Jimmy & his wife Rosalynn. Over lunch I slowly shot through a roll on my Mamiya while Taylor was interviewing him. Within 5 seconds of capturing the last frame, President Carter turned to me and said, “OK, are you ready to take my portrait.” I stumbled a bit as the Mamiya takes a few minutes to reload and I clearly wasn’t ready for this request. As he watched me nervously reload my film he commented, “You have to be the slowest photographer I’ve ever worked with.” I quickly retorted, “But I may also be the best” - a foolish statement given all the famous photographers who have taken his portrait through the years. Alas - he waited for me and let me run off 10 frames of him.
