If you’re dealing with acne marks or uneven skin texture, the first step is figuring out what’s actually happening in your skin. Post acne redness, hyperpigmentation, and textural acne scarring can look similar at first glance—but they don’t all respond to the same treatments. This is why I don’t believe in a one-treatment-fits-all approach to acne scars. Your skin needs to be assessed based on the type of discoloration, depth of scarring, active acne, inflammation, and overall skin health.
