"Proud Mother" by @jurgen_lingl

Jürgen Lingl carves his animals directly in wood with the chainsaw and chisel, letting every facet and tool mark stay visible, the gesture of the making is part of the finished piece. Here you see "Proud Mother" (+/- 120×120×75 cm) in both of her lives: first the carved wooden lioness that serves as the original model, then the bronze born from it.

We're proud to share that an example of "Proud Mother" in bronze will arrive at the gallery end of November.

Daniel Engelberg’s first monograph brings together works from the last four years, tracing his sculptural approach to painting and his exploration of the space in between @daniel_engelberg_studio

Working with sheets of MDF, acrylic paint and epoxy resin, Engelberg creates structural visual objects that combine precise geometric constructions with vibrant color gradients and optical effects. Somewhere between Concrete Art and Op Art, his works challenge our perception: their appearance and spatial effect shift depending on where we encounter them.

Referencing architectural structures, Engelberg translates sculptural ideas into seemingly two-dimensional forms. An essay by Theres Rohde offers deeper insight into his current artistic practice.

Stéphane Halleux - Solo Show "AM I AI?"

Halleux's androids, robots and animals are assembled with obsessive care, fragment by fragment, in a world where the future has always been a fantasy of the past. If a machine can now think, dream and create, do the robots start to think like human beings? "AM I AI?" is not a provocation, it is a mirror.

Vernissage Friday 7 August, 16.00 to 22.00, during the Nacht van het Zoute, in the presence of the artist.

On view through 31 August at our gallery in Knokke, Kustlaan.

Link in bio to register for the opening.

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Giuseppe Scarangelli all the way from Italy to visit our galleries in Belgium. It means a lot to us. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long and beautiful collaboration.

His work is currently on view at our Bruges gallery.
