I’m a good writer ✍️ but I have no words, really. Alicia Le, my wife of 17 years died Saturday at 50 years old. She’s struggled with a string of health issues in recent years, but she still had the humor and spirit I fell in love with through it all. As you can imagine, I’m in shock. I love and adore 🥰 my wife beyond measure and hate that she had to suffer through illness all these years But through it all, we made each other laugh and smile. I relished every opportunity to make her happy. Toward the end, it was something as simple as buying her a new set of pajamas or making something she loved to eat. It’s soul crushing that I can’t bring her that joy anymore. Alicia is the lovely woman in my profile picture. She will forever be the source of sweet memories in my heart. No one was more proud of me for every Emmy Award, she loved dressing up to support me. I'll miss her love in every way possible, but cherish every moment we had in more than two decades together. - Rest in peace, my Sweet Pea. 💕 Love always 🤗 🥰 taken in Belmont, North Carolina by @absolutele

In 2003, comedian Will Ferrell had a Harvard crowd laughing about some guy named “John Le.” Yeah that’s me, we took TV news production classes together but I never brought nachos I swear! taken in Queen City News by @absolutele

Late comedian Chris Farley was probably an early influence on my occasional use of air quotes. He was hilarious when he used them in a sketch 🤣 and it has been a tool in my storytelling toolbox ever since 🧰 🤷‍♂️ The story behind the burger mascot at @pressleyparkclt restaurant is Monday’s Faces of the Carolinas profile. “REMEMBER OUR WHY”: Filipino American History Month is an appropriate time to reshare my story about the moving inspiration behind the local food truck called The Lumpia Shack (@lumpiashackclt) The McFarlins are proud of their heritage and the delicious food they serve. Photos of the late Anthony McFarlin help put everything in perspective. “Before we enter and we start our shift, we see him and we remember our why,” said Mirayah McFarlin, Anthony’s sister. Why can a beam of light in a dark emotional place. Why made the McFarlins think, “Why not now?” Full story is at my @absolutele link 🔗 in bio. - - #filipino #filipinoamericanhistorymonth #food #clteats #foodtruck taken in Charlotte, North Carolina by @absolutele
