finally.
an app built for women’s health.

for too long, women have been expected to piece together their health on their own.

one doctor for hormones.

another for skin.

another for gut health.

another for fertility.

another for thyroid.

another for nutrition.

while trying to decode ingredient labels, endless wellness trends, and conflicting advice along the way.

we built absorbed to make that easier.

with absorbed, you can:

• scan everyday products across food, skincare, makeup, supplements, clothing, and household products.

• decode every ingredient and understand what it is, why it’s there, and how it may relate to your hormones and other body systems.

• receive recommendations personalized to your body, whether you’re managing PCOS, endometriosis, Hashimoto’s, hormonal acne, allergies, sensitive skin, or simply trying to make healthier everyday choices.

• ask AI anything about the products you’re using, the ingredients inside them, or how they may relate to your health.

• discover trusted functional medicine practitioners, biometric testing labs, health clinics, and health food stores near you.

• track your daily exposure patterns and build healthier habits over time.

because your health isn’t determined by one decision.

it’s shaped by thousands of small ones.

absorbed helps you understand those choices, so you can make more informed decisions for your body every day.

welcome to absorbed.

you are what you absorb. comment “app”to be the first to experience it yourself ✨

Pumpkin spice season might have the best PR team in America.

The orange packaging. The cinnamon sticks. The little pumpkins. The words cozy, seasonal, limited edition.
Then you flip the package over. 👀

Because the front of a product is designed to sell you a feeling. The ingredient list tells you what you’re actually buying.

And this isn’t about being scared of every ingredient or giving up your PSL. It’s about knowing what’s in the food you eat, the products you put on your body, and the things you bring into your home, especially when you’re trying to make more informed choices for your health and hormones.

Pretty packaging ≠ the full story.

if food labels were honest…
so we scanned the real ones in ābsorbed:
	1	gatorade fruit punch, 2/10
	2	kraft singles, 4/10
	3	oatly extra creamy, 5/10
	4	chips ahoy original, 2/10
	5	cheetos crunchy, 3/10
	6	frosted brown sugar cinnamon pop-tarts, 2/10
	7	kd original mac & cheese, 3/10
	8	welch’s mixed fruit snacks, 3/10
here’s what they have in common:
artificial dyes like red 40. corn syrup and refined sugar. industrial seed oils. additives like TBHQ and sodium phosphate.
none of these are illegal. most are in your pantry right now.
but research has linked these ingredients to insulin resistance, inflammation and hormone disruption when eaten regularly.
you don’t have to throw everything out tonight.
just start reading what’s actually in it.
or let your phone do it for you.

the company supplying some of the biggest names in fast food is investing millions into growing meat in a lab. 👀

and the average consumer probably has no idea.

JBS, one of the world’s largest meat processors, announced a $100 MILLION investment in cultivated protein back in 2021. fast forward to 2026, and it’s opened a biotechnology research centre in Brazil.

meanwhile, the FDA has already completed safety consultations for certain lab-grown meat products.

to be clear, this doesn’t mean McDonald’s or KFC are secretly serving lab-grown meat.

but it does raise a bigger question: how much do we actually know about the food we’re buying?

where it comes from. how it’s made. what’s in it.

the food industry is evolving, and consumers deserve transparency.

because you shouldn’t need a science degree to understand what’s going into your body.

Your everyday personal-care products deserve the same ingredient attention you give the food in your fridge.

You already put so much effort into caring for your body. Checking another label should feel manageable, not like another thing to get wrong.

The pattern:
Lotion, body wash, perfume. Familiar bottles become habits, and habits mean repeated exposure to the ingredients inside.

The catch:
NIH notes that some personal-care ingredients can interfere with hormones. A familiar scent tells you very little about the formula.

Worth knowing:
“Fragrance” can represent a mixture whose individual ingredients are not listed. Fragrance-free is one practical option to consider.

The honest context:
Exposure and dose matter. A product score cannot diagnose your symptoms or prove a product disrupted your hormones.

The fix:
Start with one bottle you use often. Absorbed helps you review product ingredients and potential hormone concerns.

here’s what’s actually in one patty:
soy protein
rice flour
potato starch
vegetable oils
methylcellulose
maltodextrin
flavour enhancer e635
hydrolysed vegetable protein
beetroot powder (to make it pink)

13 ingredients to copy something that only needs one.

real salmon has omega-3s, protein and nothing to hide. this has a lab-designed texture, a binder that’s also used in some laxatives, and two flavour enhancers doing the work the fish used to do.

it’s not lab-grown. it’s plant-based, ultra-processed and built layer by layer by a machine.

and nothing on the front of the box says printed.

the only way to know what you’re eating is to read the back, or scan it.

Your steak can come from cattle given growth hormones that the European Union doesn’t allow.

The result:
US rules permit approved cattle implants, including estrogen-based hormones. The EU bans hormonal growth promotion and imports of meat from treated cattle.

The twist:
Ractopamine can be used in US finishing-pig feed. The EU prohibits beta-agonists for growth promotion.

The catch:
Oxamyl products are marketed in the US for tomatoes, peppers and cucurbits. EU approval was not renewed in 2023.

The honest context:
These food images are illustrative. Color, size and marbling cannot identify chemical residues. Farms vary, and FDA considers approved implant uses safe.

Worth knowing:
Absorbed provides grocery ingredient insights and alternatives. A photo scan cannot measure pesticide or hormone residues.

Would you check the steak first, or the produce beside it? by @absorbed.app

lab grown chocolate is closer than you think 🍫

some of the biggest names in chocolate are already putting money into cocoa grown in a lab.

cadbury’s parent company mondelēz invested in a startup growing cocoa butter from cells in bioreactors, and showed its first milk chocolate prototypes this year.
lindt invested in a swiss startup doing the same thing with cocoa cells.

it’s not on shelves yet.
but when it is, will the label tell you? 👀

and here’s the part nobody talks about: even regular milk chocolate isn’t as clean as you’d think.

i scanned lindt’s classic recipe milk bar in ābsorbed. 3/10.
refined sugar, soy lecithin and additives, all flagged.

if you want chocolate that’s just chocolate, look for:

raaka
mast
taza
pascha
equal exchange
beyond good

short ingredient lists. real cocoa. no guessing.

A chicken in 1940 took 85 days to reach 2.89 lb. In 2025 it took 47.5 days to reach 6.63 lb.

The result:
A Great Value chicken breast bag says it contains up to 15% chicken broth, salt and natural flavor.

The twist:
Pearl Milling Company Original Syrup lists corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup first. Maple is not on the list.

Worth knowing:
Twinkies still list Red 40, Yellow 5 and polysorbate 60. Hidden Valley Ranch lists MSG and calcium disodium EDTA. Wonder bread lists dough conditioners and calcium propionate.

The honest context:
These additives are approved in the US at these levels. The old side shows what these foods were made of at home before the brands, not the brands’ old recipes. Scores are an opinion, not a diagnosis.

Absorbed scans a label, shows what it does to your hormones and suggests a cleaner swap.

A pink ribbon can raise awareness. But it can’t tell you what’s actually inside the products you’re eating, drinking, or putting on your body.

Women’s health deserves more than pink packaging.
It deserves transparency, education, and the ability to make informed choices about the ingredients we’re exposed to every day, especially when it comes to our hormones and overall health.

That’s exactly why we built Absorbed.

Scan your food, skincare, and everyday products to better understand what’s inside and decide what belongs in yourroutine.

Because awareness shouldn’t stop at the ribbon. 🎀

the candy you ate as a kid doesn’t exist anymore
same names. same wrappers. different recipes.
we scanned 8 halloween classics in ābsorbed:
	1	skittles, 1/10
	2	twizzlers, 2/10
	3	reese’s peanut butter cups, 2/10
	4	candy corn, 3/10
	5	snickers, 3/10
	6	butterfinger, 3/10
	7	almond joy, 4/10
	8	tootsie roll, [X]/10
here is what they have in common
the older recipes were short lists of sugar, corn syrup, nuts, milk and chocolate. today’s versions add palm oil, artificial flavor, preservatives like tbhq and synthetic dyes.
candy corn still lists red 3, a dye the fda has ordered out of the food supply by january 2027.
skittles dropped titanium dioxide at the end of 2024 but kept nine synthetic dyes.
you don’t have to skip halloween. just know what’s going in the bowl.
inspo @drmarkhyman
scan the wrapper before it goes in their bag.

Nearly half of dementia cases are tied to 14 risk factors people can change, a Lancet commission reported in 2024.

The twist:
Almost two thirds of Americans living with Alzheimer’s are women.

The result:
Brains donated in 2024 held more plastic than brains from 2016, and brains with dementia held about five times more, a 2025 Nature Medicine study found.

Worth knowing:
Consumer Reports found lead and cadmium in all 28 dark chocolate bars it tested. In 2020 the FDA told high risk groups, including people with Alzheimer’s, to avoid new mercury fillings where possible.

The honest context:
Most of these are links, not proven causes. The plastic study authors say it does not show plastic causes dementia. Genes still matter. Exposure is the part you can lower.
