A week after Bothered, I was taught lesson I wasn’t expecting. 🌀❄️

For a long time, I thought the safest thing to do was subdue my emotions. I believed they were too complex, too much, too vast for other people to hold. So I buried them, convinced that if I pushed them down far enough, they’d eventually disappear.

They don’t.

Emotions are interesting that way. You can drown them for a while, but eventually they find their way back to the surface.

That’s what Bothered ended up teaching me.

I’ve begun to stop hiding the parts of me that want, the parts of me that need, and the parts of me that crave. Being bothered doesn’t make you weak or less than. It doesn’t make you better or worse. It simply means something mattered enough to leave an impression.

I hope that’s something people take away from this song.

More than anything, I’m fascinated by building atmospheric worlds that people can disappear into, whether they simply enjoy them or leave with something that helps them understand themselves a little better.

Thank you to everyone who’s spent this past week with Bothered. I’m excited to keep showing more of who I am and who I continue to become. 🧚‍♀️✨
