A Broken Tail at the Summit

Every morning,
Incomplete set out on her journey.
She chased kites through every summer day.
The sun accompanied her with its mercy.

All she searched for was everything she had never lived:
the childhood she never had,
the youth she never experienced,
the life she never truly lived.

Then suddenly,
the sky was covered with clouds.
Rain released its longing-filled drops upon the earth.
Incomplete fell to her knees.

With her soaked incompleteness,
she cried out:
“I am fully aware of my own essence.
Do not laugh at me.
I am searching for my other half.
Do not run from me.
I know I can never be complete.
Please understand me.
With every sunrise,
I search for her.
With every rising moon,
I withdraw into myself.
I search for you deep within me.
Do not laugh at me.
I have lived only to become whole.
Do not run from me.
I live only for my love.
Understand me.
I will live
only for her,
for my love
for Perfect.”

As she turned away,
a kite covered entirely in mirrors rose into the sky.
The clouds parted,
making way for Perfect.
With her countless colors,
Perfect painted a radiant ribbon across the heavens.
Incomplete could not take her eyes off her.

Perfect spoke:
“I ran from you,
because I refused to accept it.
I did not return your love,
because I realized something.
I realized that your essence is my own essence.
You are not in love with me.
You are in love with your own imperfection.
Realize that.
For those who are perfect fall most deeply in love
with those who have fallen in love with their own flaws.”

That day,
Perfect vanished from the sky,
taking her unrequited love with her.
Incomplete finally understood.
She recognized the beauty of her own imperfection.

And the months,
turning into years,
gifted her sunlit days.

Cosmic Awakening

Time slept within her dark,
pitch-black singularity.
When she opened her eyes,
she realized that everything had changed.
Wrapped in her invisible cloak,
she drifted through the universe.

She sought only one answer.
What had happened?
What was the force that had erased all existence?

In the Galaxy of Self-Awareness,
Time raised her voice:
“What awakened me from my sleep was my inability to see myself completely bare in the mirror of awareness.

What I searched for was a reason,
one that could truly restore everything to what it once was.

But what I discovered is that you are the cause of this annihilation,
Greed.
You are the black hole where I sleep every night.
First, you devoured my existence,
then Existence itself.
First, you devoured my love,
then Love itself.
First, you devoured my universe,
then the Universe itself.
I am fading.
I am ceasing to exist...”

The black essence of Time's soul became a rain
that poured across the universe.

Greed spoke:
“What you say is true, Time.
I devoured everything.

Because that is why your existence,
and Existence itself,
came into being.
Because that is why
your love,
and Love itself,
was born within the heart.
Because that is why
our universe,
and the Universe itself,
was formed.

You failed to see the truth, Time.
Everything you believe exists is merely an illusion.

Anything destined to disappear one day never truly existed to begin with.”

Greed first devoured Existence,
then Love,
then the Universe,
and at last,
himself.

Everything vanished once again.

An Unordinary Morning

At the very heart of sameness,
Different opened his eyes.
He wanted nothing more than to be himself.
He could find no one to whom he could tell his pain.
They listened to him, but they did not hear him.
They looked at him, but they did not see him.

So he spoke to everyone beneath the sky:
“I cannot, and I will not change my essence, my colors, or my soul.
You ask me to become like you.
Then why do none of you wish to become like me?
Before I was even born,
my identity was painted in a river of countless colors.
My very essence was rejected beneath this sky.
You do not see me.
You do not hear me.
You do not understand me.
Because you are afraid.
Afraid of knowing that we are the same.
You awaken in your beds of illusion,
yet you fear the nightmare of truth.
If I change,
I become the same.
And if I become the same,
I cease to exist.”

The colorful Different let himself fall toward the earth.
Just then, a woman caught his colorful balloon.
Her name was Outcast.

She answered:
“I hear you.
I see you.
I understand you.
Because they do not hear me,
they do not see me,
they do not understand me either.
Because my identity,
my gender,
or my origin is different,
I hide within the wells of loneliness.
I am tired.
Do not let yourself fall.
Let us fly toward freer tomorrows,
on a miraculous morning.”

Different soared into the sky,
with Outcast holding tightly to the ribbon beneath him.

Whoever fails to recognize their own tolerance
has already abandoned their humanity to the deepest wells.

Blue Flame

As everything faded into darkness,
a ray of moonlight gently caressed the crown of a blue tree.
The name of that blue tree was Existence.

Since the sun no longer revealed its face,
the only source of life was a half moon.
The name of that half moon was Delusion.

Existence nurtured his blue leaves beneath Delusion.
Existence fed his blue roots with the rains of longing.

Then one night,
Existence darkened the blue sky with his rebellion:
“For what?
For whom am I living?
With every passing day,
I become more a stranger to myself.
Are truths truly the ones that wound my blueness?
If every passing wind is a lie,
then who is shaking my branches?
Who began this fire tonight?
Now I understand.
Because I know you well, Doubt.
The beating of your wings has left burns upon my roots.
Did you burn me for yourself,
or for the truth, Doubt?
Now I finally understand what I long for.
I scorch my essence with you.
I burn my essence with you.
I feed my essence with the flames of nothingness.”

The flames of nothingness illuminated the dark blue night.
As Doubt beat her wings and disappeared into the sky,
the beautiful,
azure Existence vanished.

The secrets you hide within your soul can sometimes become smoke from the smallest flame.
Be aware of your own essence.

On a day like any other,
just as always,
while the sky was tearing black apart with white,
a crimson light lifted her head above the mountains.
Her name was Worth.

Her radiant light was never enough to reveal her own sorrows.
The fierce warmth she gave away
was never strong enough to melt the cold of abandonment.

She had risen countless times,
and set countless times.
With every sunrise,
she darkened her own essence.
With every sunset,
she darkened not only the day,
but her own eyes as well.

On a July day, she finally found her voice:
"Enough.
World, hear the crimson scream
I release every morning.
World, see my naked body,
covered in wounds at every noon.
World, understand the grief
I can no longer hide each evening.

I will no longer rise for your counterfeit darkness.
I will no longer exist in your selfish sky,
veiled by clouds of inequality.
This evening,
I shall set for the last time.
I will return to the only love who has ever understood me.
I will close my eyes,
silence my voice,
forget everything,
and let Disappointment cover me."

One evening,
a vast, muted gray settled over everything.
Disappointment covered Worth like a shroud.
Those who were just like everyone else disappeared.

The values accepted as ordinary disappeared.
Those who had never recognized her greatness disappeared.

Those who fail to recognize the worth of Worth
fall asleep in the absence of all things,
wrapped beneath Truth's muddy blanket.

A Pinch of Melancholy

"If every being is destined to vanish one day,
then who am I in this world?"
Soil asked herself.

The Sun scorched her a little more with each passing day.
She waited, but her greatest love had not come for a very long time.
After the last wildfire,
she was the only one left standing.

She raised her head and called out to the sky:

"The only thing I ever did was make you see your pride,
your cruelty,
and your injustice.
You do not hate me, Rain.
I know you long to moisten my lips with yours.
You need me, Rain.
Without me,
what value does your existence have?
What meaning does the night hold without the stars?
What purpose is there in living without love?
Do not forgive me,
forgive yourself, Rain.
Kiss me tonight."

As evening approached,
black clouds covered the sky.
Lightning struck down upon expectations.
Violins began to play.

Then, after years apart,
Rain pressed her lips against Soil's for the first time.
Their kiss lasted for hours.

In the first hours of the morning,
as birds and insects sang,

Soil gave birth to a green being.
Her name was Sprout.
The child of Soil and Rain.

But by the following evening,
everything had changed.
Rain seemed to cover the entire world.
Life stopped.
Time stopped.
But she did not stop in her thirst for vengeance.

Sprout died.

Before drawing her final breath, Soil called out:

"All I ever wanted was for you to love me.
Only me.
Tomorrow, I will be gone.
And tomorrow, you too will lose your meaning.
A living meaninglessness is colder than a dead body.
Farewell, my only love."

Love creates need.
Love gives birth to the cure.
Love satisfies neither the eyes nor the soul.
And love,
through its very essence,
kills both itself and the one it loves.
