Zaid Abueisa is an interdisciplinary new media artist and creative technologist working with computational systems and emerging technologies. His practice engages real-time audiovisual processes, interactive media, and data-based methodologies to approach heritage as an evolving field of documentation and interpretation. Treating data as material, his work explores how cultural memory can be recorded, translated, and re-articulated through technological systems. Grounded in research, his practice connects technological experimentation with contemporary digital culture across the MENA region and beyond

Cultural Exchange in Paris – Imaginary City Experience 🇫🇷 🇯🇴
I had the incredible opportunity to join the Motasaa Program’s Imaginary City Experience at Le Vent Se Lève, Paris a hub for interdisciplinary artistic collaboration.

Over five days, we engaged in roundtable discussions, artist meetups, and studio visits, exchanging ideas on creative storytelling and urban imagination. One of the highlights was touring Le Vent Se Lève’s sound and light design spaces, gaining insight into inspiring projects by resident artists.

This journey was all about learning, sharing, and imagining together.

Zaid Abueissa, a Jordanian artist, who is a valued contributor to our artistic community.

Zaid seamlessly integrated his creative journey into the heart of the Tunisian art landscape, enriching our collective tapestry over the past year. The themes of SEE DJERBA resonated deeply with his artistic spirit, and we were truly humbled by the opportunity to witness his unique spark igniting this captivating canvas of light during the exhibition. He shared an animation about the characteristic water movements.

This is a documentation series of the public art display on the water as artistic material. The 32 artworks address water as material or texture, an ecological system and a key challenge of climate change, a socio-political issue of climate justice, and a theme of personal and cultural memory.
