Ending 2025 feeling genuinely accomplished about the goals I set and actually reached.

KosciMiler. UTA100. Sydney Marathon. Canberra Marathon. Glenbrook Marathon. All while getting stronger in the gym. Graduation ceremony. First place in a speech contest. Getting my citizenship.

The grind added up. But that’s all past now. Time to set new goals for 2026.

Conquer new projects. Push into territory that makes me uncomfortable all over again.

It’s going to be hard and scary and uncertain. But I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Comfort is the enemy of growth. So let’s keep growing 🫡 by @abufit_

We have no limits, but the ones we place on ourselves. Sometimes, you just need to step into the discomfort and see what you’re truly capable of.

Yesterday, I went out for a long run without any goal distance, just to truly test my limits. It was a 30°C humid day, but I didn’t even notice the humidity.

Go out and define your own limits. We’re all capable of so much more than we think.

My first 100 miler.

A reminder to myself that I’ve done this before.

KosciMiler was only my second ever trail race. I still remember the cold, the silence, the climbs, the endless night, and the feeling of not knowing if my body would keep moving.

And as UTA gets closer, the doubt has started to creep in. The mind starts playing games. Telling me my knee isn’t fully recovered, that I’m not ready, and my DNF at Tarawera doesn’t help either.

But it’s always better to battle with everything I have than wonder what might have been from the sidelines.

The sidelines offer comfort, safety, excuses.
The arena demands courage, pain, execution.

I choose the latter. Every time. by @abufit_

❌ Tarawera Miler - My first DNF.

I never thought I’d DNF a race. I used to joke with my friends about when my first one would come because I always thought I could push through anything. But a race like a 100-miler has its own rules.

My training went flawlessly. No niggles. Not a single run skipped. But my body had other plans on race day.

The race started great. I felt incredible until about 70k when my right knee flared up. I thought it was just soreness at first. Multiple runners stopped to check if I was okay because my gait had changed. At the 100k aid station, I got to the medic who examined me and recommended pulling out. It looked like a potential bone issue. I got it strapped, took painkillers, and chose to continue. Each step after that was as painful as it gets, and by 129k my knee was swollen and I couldn’t bend it. Not knowing exactly what the issue was, I didn’t want to risk permanent damage, so I decided to pull out.

The decision hit me hard. Being carried to the next aid station by medics on a mountain bike, knowing people were tracking me, and realizing I wouldn’t be able to return to this race for a couple of years all hit at once.

The conditions were brutal. Torrential rain, knee-high mud, extreme chafing. But if you know me, I thrive in these conditions. I learned lessons about myself I never would’ve if I finished.

It stings. But if you push yourself outside your comfort zone and do the hard things, you risk failure. And I do know this: Redemption exists on the other side of persistence.

I’ll be back Tarawera.

Ultra-marathon runner. Quiet achiever. Absolute workhorse!!!

I first noticed him training alone at The Performance HQ, late at night, moving some seriously heavy deadlifts for his bodyweight. No noise. No fuss. No music. Just discipline!!! We started chatting between sessions and built a solid professional relationship grounded in one goal — get stronger, stay conditioned, and be ready to take on his first ultra at Mount Kosciuszko 🏃

He conquered that. Now he’s stepping up again.

This weekend Abu takes on 160kms New Zealand 🇳🇿 YS YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY!!!! Pushing his limits, challenging himself, and representing everything we stand for🙌🏽

Let get show some love and get behind him.
Big miles.
Big mindset.
Let’s go, @abufit_ 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

✅ First 100mile race.

162km. 6578m elevation gain.
No pacer. No crew. Watch dying 6hrs before cut off.
Getting to each aid station with one question: what’s the cutoff and distance to the next aid station?

I had no idea if I’d been running for 20 mins or 2 hours between checkpoints.
Just had one goal in mind, get to the finish line before 36 hours.
And I did exactly that.

I’ve learnt things about myself in that race that I never would’ve otherwise.
Grateful for another adventure Alhamdulillah.
