Now for the adventure home…On the way to MCO, I started getting notifications that our flight from Orlando to Chicago was delayed due to the incoming flight running behind. It was delayed enough that there would be no way for us to make our Chicago to Peoria flight. So upon arrival at MCO, we headed to customer service for American Airlines and they were able to move our Chicago to Peoria flight to the later one. Ok fine good no problem. Just a longer layover.
We get to Chicago, get some dinner, and settle in for a bit. Notification comes through-gate change. Ok fine. (Side note: the L gates for terminal 3 at O’hare might as well be in Naperville, they’re so far out 😂).
We’re at our new gate not even 10 minutes that another gate change comes through, promptly followed by words I had never seen before: flight cancelled. Um what?! (Now to be fair, there were crazy storms rolling through the midwest that night so I fully understand why)
We head over to the customer service desk figuring out what to do.
Now some background: I had to be in the Chicago area the next day for a work meeting. My boss had previously offered for my little fam to stay in a hotel I didn’t have to get up and drive the next morning.
I call my boss, tell her what’s happening, she gets a hotel for me, hubs, and Nugget. My parents call friends that live in the area. They’re booked on the morning flight the next morning, we cancelled our return flight, as it didn’t work with my meeting times. We then start to hunt for a rental car. Next hurdle: no where at O’hare was renting one way rentals. My boss helps arrange for someone to come pick us up to get us to the hotel. (Story continued in comments) by @abugandamouse

We made it to Monday-our last full day.
We started the day in Epcot. We hit a few more food booths, enjoyed brunch with the princesses at Akershus, did a little shopping and exploring, rode some rides, and then hopped over to Magic Kingdom.
Did you know-hopping between Magic Kingdom and Epcot via monorail-you don’t go through security again. I learned that this trip, and let me just say it was quite nice.
We rode Carousel of Progress-a family favorite-and Miss Nugget was an instant fan. We then headed to dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. Delicious, as always. We then enjoyed riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Pirates of the Caribbean, before splitting off-my parents and Nugget went to Haunted Mansion, while hubby and I had a little date on Tron (see pinned comment on my thoughts on Tron as a fluffy gal).
After Tron, we met back up and took a spin on the PeopleMover, just as Happily Ever After began. Now I love the song. But finally hearing it in Magic Kingdom? Instant tears. We got off PeopleMover in time to catch Tink flying from the Castle. Again, sobbing. What a great way to cap off our time in the Most Magical Place on Earth. by @abugandamouse

Now that the whole party is finally together, it’s time to conquer 4 parks in 2 days (plus blow through tons of dining credits-iykyk)
First up-breakfast at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, followed by a full fam Capture Your Moment session (in which one of the photographers and I geeked over Joe Rohde).
After checking out Zootopia, taking turns on Everest, and a safari ride, we took a Minnie Van to Hollywood Studios (my dad’s first Minnie Van ride).
Hollywood Studios brought us lunch at 50’s Prime Time Cafe, meeting Olaf and “action Ariel”, seeing Mando and Grogu, and dropping in on Tower of Terror. We then rode Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, saw Voyage of the Little Mermaid, rode Toy Story Mania, and ended the action-packed day with dinner at Sci-Fi Dine In Theater. by @abugandamouse

Now for Saturday…and some of the best and worst things that happened the whole trip (all in one day).
Saturday was planned to be a rest day, but with my parents now traveling in, we wanted to meet for dinner in Epcot. So we bought a one day ticket for Epcot for that day.
We started the day a little slower with breakfast, then swimming at the hotel.
We then headed out to Epcot, to hit more food booths.
I discovered while trying to get Guardians Lightning Lanes that the wrong ticket got scanned for me-my 5 day ticket got scanned instead of my dated ticket for Epcot that day. A frantic trip to guest relations later and they not only fixed my park tickets, they pixie dusted us with Guardians lightning lanes.
After taking turns riding guardians (with both of us getting the same row and same song) we headed over to World showcase for some more food and a ride on Remy’s, after which we would meet my parents…story continued in comments. by @abugandamouse

Friday was a rope drop to fireworks kind of day!
We rope dropped Magic Kingdom, got some Starbies for breakfast, and headed to Fantasyland to see if Miss Nugget was tall enough for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (she was a finger width too short). Instead, we hit Peter Pan’s flight, along with a ride on Dumbo and another ride on Goofy’s Barnstormer. We also met Rapunzel and Tiana!
After some lunch at Casey’s Corner and meeting Mickey, we took the bus back to Pop Century, in order to hop on the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios.
One of the highlights was dinner at Hollywood and Vine, with guaranteed Fantasmic! seating later that evening.
We enjoyed some more attractions, including Rise of the Resistance, taking turns with purchased lightning lanes, before heading to Fantasmic!
Little miss fell asleep before the show even began, but you best believe Mama was singing and doing Mickey’s choreography 😂 by @abugandamouse

Our next day took us to “Joe’s Park”-aka Animal Kingdom. We took an early safari ride and saw so many animals. After taking turns riding Everest, we headed over to our Lightning Lane for Festival of the Lion King.
It was here we got some pixie dust. I had stopped to ask a cast member where stroller parking was. She noticed the different celebration buttons we had and invited us to the VIP entrance for FOLK-we were some of the first folks in and got front row seats. Then Miss Nugget got picked to be in the parade towards the end of the show.
After lunch in Pandora, we headed back to the hotel for some rest. We then hopped the Skyliner to Epcot for some more food booths and exploration. We enjoyed The Seas with Nemo and Friends, as well as Moana the Journey of Water. by @abugandamouse

Our first full day started with an early Minnie Van ride to Magic Kingdom. I am a huge fan of Minnie Vans, even more now with a tiny human in tow.
Nugget’s first ride of the trip was the Peoplemover. Right at official park open, we had a Capture your Moment session with Disney Photopass. It was amazing 💜
We had brunch at Crystal Palace and then enjoyed some rides before hopping via monorail to Epcot. It was the first day of Flower and Garden festival and I have a foodie for a husband 😂
After some rides and food at Epcot, we headed back to Pop via Skyliner, with a sleeping toddler in the stroller. by @abugandamouse

2 weeks ago we went on Nugget’s first Disney trip! So for the next week, I’m going to share day-by-day posts.

Travel day started early (3am early), and with a bit of disaster-my parents were supposed to travel with us, but my mom woke up ill. They told us to go ahead and go, and they would join us later in the trip (more on that story as we come to it).

This was Nugget’s first flight ever-and she did amazing. We arrived to Pop Century, got settled in our room, got our stroller from Kingdom Strollers, and headed off for dinner and shopping at Disney Springs. by @abugandamouse

I heard the internet said 2016 renaissance…so I present our honeymoon from October 2016. It was my husband’s first Disney trip. And how appropriate that 10 years later, in a couple months, it will be our daughter’s first Disney trip. by @abugandamouse

@disneyonice was so much fun! My daughter was so excited and danced around. I was once again amazed by the artistry and acrobatics of the performers. This was her first real Disney experience and it makes me so excited for future Disney experiences 💜 #disneyonice #toddlersfirstshow by @abugandamouse
