I visited the shrine this week.

There are places you visit, and then there are places you feel. This feels surreal.

Stepping into the Shrine and seeing some of the remnants of what Fela created was surreal. To stand in a space where one of Africa’s greatest musical revolutionaries lived, created, challenged the status quo, and gave birth to a sound that would travel far beyond Nigeria… it hits differently.

Fela Kuti wasn’t just the founder of Afrobeat. He was a storyteller, an activist, a cultural force, and a man who used music to make people listen.

For me, this wasn’t just a visit to a historic place. It was a moment of connecting with a piece of African history and witnessing the echoes of a legacy that continues to inspire generations.

And the timing couldn’t be better because Felabration is coming this October! 🎶🔥

A whole celebration of Fela’s life, music, spirit, and the legacy he left behind. Another opportunity for us to gather, remember, dance, learn, and celebrate the greatness that was Fela.

The legacy lives on.
The music lives on.
The Shrine still speaks.

Felabration 2026 — October. Let’s celebrate Fela.

I can’t wait to revisit , this time to perform in this legendary stage where almost every iconic Nigerian artists passed through . This is what music means to me, music gives me the opportunity to dare and to dream.
