Sometimes, thinking about what you want next just creates more thinking.

You journal.
You talk to friends.
You take some time away.
You try to work it out.

And still
 the question stays.

But jumping straight into six months of support can feel like too much, too soon.

**That’s why I built The Door.**

A 90-minute structured diagnostic for established professionals who are doing well on paper, but privately questioning what comes next.

We look at:

→ What you actually want
→ What’s keeping the question open
→ What needs to change
→ What your next move could be

No career prescription.
No therapy.
No disguised sales call.

Just a focused conversation to help you see the situation differently.

**€333 fully credited if you continue into my six-month programme.**

Sometimes you don’t need more time to think.

You need a different conversation.

Message me **DOOR** if you’ve been carrying the same question for months. by @abundancemindset.coach

There’s a question I keep coming back to.

“What would you do differently if you weren’t so good at what you currently do?”
I like it because it exposes something we don’t talk about enough.

Competence has its own gravity.
We’re taught to build on our strengths.
We’re rewarded for our strengths.

Eventually, we become known for our strengths.
And the better you become at something, the more reasons the world gives you to keep doing it.

→ Another promotion
→ Another salary increase
→ Another person depending on you
→ Another reason not to disrupt what works

Until one day the question isn’t:
“Am I successful?”

It’s:
“Do I still want to be successful at this?”
Those are very different questions.

Failure can force us to reconsider our direction.
Success rarely does.

Sometimes the hardest thing to outgrow is something you’re still exceptionally good at.

What would you choose differently if competence wasn’t part of the calculation? by @abundancemindset.coach

Your best people might not be doing their best work.

They’re reliable.
They hit their targets.
They keep everything moving.

So naturally, we give them more of the same.

But what if the work they’re doing isn’t where they could contribute most?

Sometimes, the person you rely on most is the person you’re underusing.

A simple question to ask:

**“Am I giving this person enough space to use what they’re really capable of?”**

Because performance shows you what someone is doing.

**Contribution shows you what they could bring.**

If this is something you’re thinking about in your team, message me **CONTRIBUTION**.

“It’s just not the right time.”

Sometimes that’s completely true.

But sometimes, **“not now” becomes a habit.**

After this project.
After things settle down.
After the busy period.
Next quarter.
Next year.

We see it in personal change. And we see it in organisations too.

The team effectiveness conversation that keeps getting deferred. The leadership development work that never quite makes it onto this year’s priorities.

The issue often isn’t intention.

It’s that waiting can feel responsible. It looks like pragmatism rather than avoidance.

Perhaps the better question isn’t:

**“When will the timing be right?”**

But:

**“What are we waiting to feel before we allow ourselves to begin?”**

What have you been calling bad timing that might actually be waiting for a decision?

Most organisations don’t struggle with good intentions.

“We want people to take more ownership.”
“We need greater collaboration.”
“We want managers to empower their teams.”

The intention is there.

But intention has competition: established habits, existing structures, leadership behaviours, and ways of working reinforced over years.

High-contribution teams aren’t created by better intentions.

They’re created when better behaviours become **the normal way of working**.

Small changes. Practised consistently. Reflected on. Adjusted. Repeated.

Until what once required conscious effort becomes simply:

**“This is how we work here.”**

Agreement is easy. Embedding it into everyday behaviour is where the real work begins.

What behaviour does your organisation say it wants more of, but perhaps unintentionally makes difficult?

Most teams already know what good teamwork looks like.

Take ownership. Communicate openly. Collaborate. Show initiative. Solve problems rather than passing them upwards.

Most leaders know this too.

And yet knowing what good looks like doesn’t mean those behaviours consistently happen.

Perhaps the better question isn’t:

**“Do our people know what we expect?”**

But:

**“What is making those behaviours easier, or harder, to practise here?”**

This is one of the questions behind the **Team Contribution Diagnostic**.

It looks beyond whether people understand what good looks like and explores the conditions that may be reinforcing, or quietly undermining, the contribution you want to see.

Because the knowing-doing gap doesn’t only exist in individuals.

It exists in teams and organisations too.

And awareness alone rarely closes it.

**Where do you see the biggest knowing-doing gap in your team right now?**

A team can know it has an ownership problem and still escalate every difficult decision upwards.

A leader can know their people need more autonomy and still step in the moment things become uncomfortable.

Because awareness and change are not the same thing.

We can recognise a pattern. We can understand why it happens. We can even agree that something needs to change.

But if the environment continues to reward the old behaviour, insight alone won’t shift it.

The more useful question for leadership teams is not simply:

“Do people know what’s expected?”

It’s:

**“What is our environment currently reinforcing?”**

Agency. Meaning. Growth. Connection.

These aren’t soft concepts. They shape whether people bring their full contribution to work or quietly hold some of it back.

Insight creates the opportunity for change.

**Behaviour is where change becomes real.**

What does your organisation know it should be doing differently, but somehow keeps not doing?

We often interpret discomfort as a warning.

*Maybe this isn't right.*
*Maybe I'm not ready.*
*Maybe I should stay where I am.*

But discomfort doesn't always mean something is wrong.

Sometimes it simply means **something is unfamiliar.**

The familiar gives us certainty.

We know the expectations.
We know the patterns.
We know how to navigate what we've experienced before.

Possibility can't offer us the same reassurance.

It asks us to move before we have all the evidence.
To trust ourselves before we know exactly how things will unfold.

And that's why growth can feel uncomfortable long before it feels rewarding.

The goal isn't to eliminate discomfort.

It's to become more discerning about what it's telling us.

Sometimes discomfort is a genuine signal to pay attention.

And sometimes it's simply the feeling of stepping beyond an identity, habit or environment that has become familiar.

**Don't automatically confuse unfamiliar with unsafe.**

What possibility might you explore differently if discomfort wasn't automatically a reason to turn back?

Knowing isn't the same as changing.

You can know you need stronger boundaries.

Know you need more balance.

Know it's time to let something go.

Know exactly which pattern keeps repeating.

And still find yourself doing what you've always done.

That's the **Knowing–Doing Gap**.

We often assume that once we understand something, our behaviour should automatically change.

But awareness creates understanding.

**Behaviour creates change.**

And between the two sit the habits, expectations and familiar responses we've repeated for years.

So perhaps the question isn't:

*“What else do I need to know?”*

Perhaps it's:

**“What would make a different behaviour easier to repeat?”**

One boundary kept.

One conversation approached differently.

One decision made from self-trust rather than habit.

One small action that gives you evidence that you can respond differently.

Because transformation doesn't begin when you finally know enough.

It begins when what you know starts becoming **how you live**.

Where in your life do you already know the answer—but haven't yet allowed yourself to live it?

We don't always stay because we're happy.

Sometimes we stay because we're **familiar**.

Familiar job.
Familiar routine.
Familiar thinking.
Familiar frustrations.

Our minds like certainty because certainty is predictable.

And that's why we can remain in situations we've quietly outgrown—even when part of us already knows it's time for something different.

The greatest barrier to change isn't always fear of failure.

Sometimes it's **attachment to what's known.**

And the same thing can happen inside organisations.

Teams repeat familiar behaviours.
Leaders repeat familiar decisions.
Cultures reinforce familiar expectations.

Eventually, *"this is how we do things"* can become more powerful than *"is this still serving us?"*

That's when familiarity stops being comfort and starts becoming limitation.

Growth begins when familiarity is no longer enough reason to stay.

**Where might familiarity be making the decision for you right now?**

Save this for the next time something new feels uncomfortable simply because it's unfamiliar.

Success can become a comfort zone too.

Not because you've stopped achieving.

But because you've become exceptionally good at being the person who created those achievements.

You know how to perform.
You know how to solve the problem.
You know what's expected of you.
You know how to deliver.

And eventually, those behaviours can stop feeling like choices.

They start feeling like **who you are**.

That's where an interesting question emerges:

**Is the version of you that created your success still the version of you who can make your greatest contribution?**

The habits that brought you here deserve recognition.

The discipline.
The responsibility.
The resilience.
The ability to deliver when it mattered.

But growth sometimes asks for something different.

Not more achievement.

More alignment.
More wisdom.
More trust.
More willingness to evolve beyond what you've already proven.

Because yesterday's success deserves gratitude.

**Today's contribution determines tomorrow's growth.**

You don't have to reject the person you've been.

You simply have to recognise when you've learned everything that version of you came here to teach you.

What part of your success story might you still be holding onto simply because it feels familiar?

Many people spend years becoming known for what they do.

The leader.
The expert.
The provider.
The reliable one.

And over time
 the role becomes the identity.

You become so used to being *that person* for everyone else that you stop asking who you are beyond it.

Until one day, the question isn’t:

*What do I do next?*

It becomes:

*Who am I underneath the role?*

Beneath the title.
The responsibilities.
The achievements.

Because who you are is deeper than what you do.

And sometimes the most important work isn’t building more

It’s reconnecting with yourself beyond the roles you’ve carried.

If your title, responsibilities, and achievements disappeared tomorrow
