It’s an honor to be featured in Martha Stewart alongside Neat and Orderly’s Sarit Weiss and @audreekatelopez 🩵✨

In this article, I shared some of my go-to closet clean-out strategies to help you create a space that truly works for your lifestyle.

We covered things like
🩵 Why removing dry cleaning bags matters for both your clothing and your closet environment
🩵 Letting go of pieces that no longer fit your style or season of life
🩵 Creating breathing room so your closet feels calm instead of cramped
🩵 Making intentional decisions about what truly deserves space in your home

A closet should feel supportive, not stressful. When we clear the excess, we create clarity and confidence in getting dressed every day.

There’s something powerful about stepping into a room full of passionate people and shifting the conversation from productivity and performance to purpose and wellbeing. ✨

I never imagined speaking would become such a meaningful part of my work, but I’m deeply grateful it has. It’s a joy to share what I’ve learned about organizing, leadership, and navigating life’s harder transitions in a way that truly supports others.

I love tossing in a good dance move, and there’s nothing better than hearing one of my jokes land with an audience of 200+! And yes, before any virtual event, you’ll find me propping up my laptop with yoga blocks to get the Zoom angle right. Tech is hard, friends. šŸ˜…

I’m opening up my calendar for speaking engagements through 2025 and into 2026, and I’d be thrilled to join your event. Whether it’s a conference, retreat, offsite, summit, or professional gathering – I’m here for the adventure!

As founder of Abundance Organizing and past president of NAPO, I bring over two decades of experience guiding people and organizations through change with empathy, strategy, and a mental health-forward approach.

Organizing isn’t just about systems and checklists. It’s about how people feel in their roles, their spaces, and their lives.

When we work with senior clients, we’re often helping them navigate belongings filled with memories, changing needs, and decisions that can feel deeply personal. How we approach that work matters. 🩵

This October in The Organizing Standard, I’ll be teaching Working with Wisdom: Best Practices for Working with Senior Clients.

We’ll explore how to adapt our communication, pacing, and decision-making support to each client’s physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. We’ll also discuss family dynamics, resistance to change, safety concerns, and the grief that can accompany life transitions.

My goal is to equip your team with practical tools to support senior clients with confidence and compassion, honoring their autonomy while keeping their wellbeing at the center of the process.

Ready to bring this training to your team? Sign up using the link in our bio!

How do we help clients connect the organizing results they want with the budget they have? Sometimes, a visual can make that conversation much easier. 🩵

In another clip from September’s project management training in The Organizing Standard, I share an idea my team and I have been discussing: bringing a lookbook to organizing jobs.

Photos of finished spaces could help clients compare options, from acrylic bins to metal or woven baskets, and understand how those choices affect the cost. They could also help us better understand each client’s preferences and create a shared vision before the work begins.

It’s a practical example of how budget awareness and client communication come together when managing a project.

Is your closet giving your clothes enough breathing room? šŸ‘š

I’m excited to see my advice featured in an article on AOL about how to store clothing correctly!

One simple way to tell if your closet is overstuffed: try sliding your hangers back and forth. If they move easily, you’re in good shape. If you have to force them into place, it’s time to make some room. I recommend leaving about a quarter inch of space on each side.

Giving your clothes that extra space makes it easier to see what you own, choose what to wear, and put things away.

What does project management look like for professional organizers? 🩵

In this clip, I introduce the topic and explain the skills that help us guide an organizing project from start to finish.

Creating an organized space takes more than knowing where things belong. It also takes clear expectations, thoughtful planning, and the ability to adapt when things change.

That’s the focus of this month’s training in The Organizing Standard: Running the Job, Not Just the Room: Project Management Essentials for Organizing Professionals.

We cover scoping, timelines, resource planning, budget awareness, and client communication, giving your team a repeatable framework for jobs of any size.

Watch for an introduction, then visit the link in our bio to learn more about The Organizing Standard and sign up your team!

As professional organizers, we believe decluttering can do more than create space in your home. It can also create an opportunity to support someone else.

This October, Little Hands Virginia is hosting the Big Diaper Drive, a community-wide effort to collect diapers for families experiencing diaper need across Central Virginia.

As you organize your nursery, changing station or children’s closets, look for clean, unused diapers your child may have outgrown. Those extras taking up space in your home could make a meaningful difference for another family.

Don’t have diapers to donate? Little Hands Virginia also accepts many new and gently used essentials, including toys, books, strollers, car seats, Pack ’n Plays and clothing and shoes in sizes newborn through 5T. Be sure to review their current donation guidelines before dropping off any items.

A diaper is small, but its impact is not. Access to diapers and other essential items supports healthier children, more stable families and stronger futures.

You can donate items at a participating collection site or make a monetary contribution. Through Little Hands Virginia’s wholesale partnerships, a $20 donation can provide 110 diapers.

Visit the link in our bio to learn more, review the donation guidelines, find a collection site or make a donation. 🩵✨
