✨ Listen, signs and synchronicity it’s a thing!

In the last 24 hours I saved a woodpecker that ended up in the middle of a pretty dangerous road that always has cars yet somehow when it was time for me to gather him up, it was a ghost town.

🪺Then I came into work and as I’m moving a wreath to hang up a beautiful dress (shout out to my business @terracoveskippack 😘) I find this little nest with one lovely reminder of new life!

So, someone is talking and I am here, listening, receiving, and knowing that I am supported by this beautifully abundant universe and energy. 💕

💖 I’m going to let you in on a little secret…

You’re right, some people do not care about anything that you post and that’s okay!

I attended a growth seminar and started working with a business mentor this past month and one of the most valuable perspectives I gained was:

🥇Small business owners, especially ones that have a studio or shop, like I do, have to stop playing small!

What does that mean exactly?

Well, here’s an example based on personal experience:

📍 I opened up a brick and mortar business four years ago and it’s in a small town.

My main focus has always been on building local relationships within my small town + surrounding areas

BUT

I was thinking too small! 🫣

The truth is, no matter what your business is, or where it’s located, our reach is limitless.

🌍 There are people all over the world waiting to experience your business, your insights, your values, and YOU!!

So, I’m leaning into the shift and embracing that I can take up as much space as I want, and it extends beyond my studio.

If this resonates with you, follow along, and I will follow you right back.

We’re skipping the small talk. 😂❤️

Hi, I’m Nikki, and apparently I’ve reached the age where I’m comfortable connecting with complete strangers on the internet!

I’m a mom of four, a small business owner, a lover of vintage everything, an oversharer when I’m comfortable, and someone who can find a song lyric for just about ANY situation. 🎶

I’ve had some incredible experiences, made some questionable decisions (the rollerblade incident being a prime example 🙃), and learned that there’s something really freeing about being able to laugh at yourself.

One of my favorite things about getting older is realizing I don’t need to make myself more polished or more digestible to be worthy of connection.

I’d rather be a little quirky and find my people. 🥰

So, if you’re new here, WELCOME! I’m sharing more of my everyday life, motherhood, small business adventures, vintage finds, and whatever else happens to make its way into my camera roll.

Now it’s YOUR turn.

Tell me one completely random thing about yourself that I’d never guess from looking at your Instagram! 👀😂

Also, if you want to be friends - Make like Shania and LET’S GO GIRL!

I’ll follow you back, check in regularly for new posts, and show you love from this small town in PA that I live in. 💖

🛑 Girl, get back into the stores!! 🛑

Listen, I get it. 😂 Online shopping is convenient, life is expensive, we’re all busy, and sometimes that little “add to cart” button is just too easy.

BUT GIRL, remember when we’d go to the bookstore just to browse?

Wander through little shops, touch everything, discover things we didn’t even know existed, and make an entire afternoon out of it?

I miss that, and I don’t think I’m alone.

📍As a small business owner with a physical storefront, I understand BOTH sides of this.

I know that sometimes the online price is better, the budget is tight, and paying full retail just isn’t realistic.

And you know what? That’s okay!

💖 Somewhere along the way, we’ve forgotten that shopping is an experience, not just a transaction. Even if it’s not in budget right now, go rediscover some of your favorite places, smile at a stranger, and get off the phone for a little bit.

In a world where we’re constantly working, hustling, scrolling, and staring at screens, I think we’re missing a little bit of that magic. ✨

I’m tired of seeing our favorite bookstores, boutiques, and neighborhood shops become memories because we stopped showing up.

So here’s my little proposal: Shop online when you need to, but make an intentional choice to shop in person when you can. Support the stores you love when your budget allows, and remember that simply enjoying these spaces is part of what makes life feel a little more human.

Let’s bring back browsing. Shopping dates. Wandering around with absolutely no agenda. ❤️

ROMANTICIZING RETAIL AGAIN
Get the fuck back in the store. 🛍️

Send this to your favorite shopping buddy. We’re bringing back shopping dates.

We’re so much more than business owners. ✨❤️

We’re girls who want real connections.

Moms who take tiny breaks in pantries.

Wives/Partners who have to remember to choose love over ego.

And so so much more.

A little peek into my life 😂❤️ it’s pretty glorious, not always pretty, but it’s FULL of love, integrity, and positive actions.

I know so many of you have been following along with me for YEARS now, and somewhere along the way, so many of you have become more than just clients, you’ve become friends. 🥹

I also know that I’m not popping up in some of your feeds until DAYS later! 🫣 Oh, Instagram.

We spend so much time catching up about your lives when you’re in the studio, and I thought it would be fun to share a little more of mine with you, too!

So here’s a little digital journal dump of what an ordinary day looks like around here. 💖

One of the things I’ve been learning lately is how important it is to make room for a life outside of running a business. While Terra Cove will always be such a big piece of my world, there’s a whole lot of life happening outside those four walls, too.

I hope you know how much I appreciate those of you who continue to show up here, leave a little comment, send me a message, stop into the shop just to say hello, or trust me with an hour+ of your day.

You make this little corner of my world feel like so much more than a business.

Anyway, that’s a little bit of my life lately! 🥰

Now tell me, what have YOU been up to lately?! I feel like we always have so much to catch up on. ❤️

🐓ALL 17 OF THEM🐓

I absolutely LOVE when people say this to me, it honestly makes my day.

I’ve been saying it for YEARS:

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 I’m a mom of four rascals!
🐶 A sucker for our four dogs.
🐓 Thank my 17 chickens DAILY for our eggs.
💍 And drive my husband crazy for fun!

Not including that I also run a business with my daughter as my sidekick.

Why do I post??

Because I have a beautiful life that I just want to share with people and make friends along the way. 💖

Why do YOU post??

Let me know in a comment, or don’t, whatever floats your boat, babe!

✨ We can’t be the right vibe for everyone!

Dogs love me. Babies smile at me. Strangers tell me everything. 😂💗

And honestly? I’ve decided that’s enough evidence for me.

At this grown age, I’m perfectly okay with not being everyone’s shot of espresso. 💋

I’m not auditioning for universal approval, or chasing down people who are dedicated to misunderstanding me.

Life is way too beautiful to shrink ourselves for outside approval.

I had a whole conversation with a stranger at Target today in aisle 12…We laughed, we hugged, so I think I’m doing alright. 🤷🏽‍♀️✨

Because people can feel energy.

They know when you’re being genuine. They know when you’re safe. They know when you’re NOT secretly judging them, keeping score, or waiting for your turn to talk.

Good energy. Genuine intentions. A little bit of chaos. 😂

That’s the vibe over here. 🫶🏼

FREE chocolate?! Say less. I’m already in love. 😂🍫❤️

We took a little trip to Allentown, PA and OH MY GOODNESS.

If you love an old-fashioned chocolate shop, you need to put @joshearlycandies on your list!

First of all, the sweetest woman greeted us and became our sample dealer. 😍

As a SERIOUS chocolate connoisseur, I was absolutely blown away with how rich, creamy, and decadent the chocolate was.

Naturally, we couldn’t leave empty-handed, so chocolate-covered gummy bears and root beer barrels came home with us, of course! 😂🍬

But here’s what makes this little gem even sweeter:

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 They’ve been family owned since 1904, make their chocolate in house using generations old recipes, and we learned that they don’t use wax in their chocolate!

Over 120 years of making candy, and they’re still doing their thing. 🥹

As a small business owner myself, I just LOVE finding places like this. The history, the nostalgia, the friendly faces, and the experience of actually walking into a store and discovering something wonderful.

More little adventures like this, please! ❤️

⬇️ I want to know your niche!! ⬇️

What’s the thing that you DO that you consider yourself an expert at?? If it generates income, great, if not, that’s okay too, I’m just curious! 👀

When I think about my #1 niche, I think of:

🪡Sewing handmade garments.
🗝️Sourcing vintage that customers want and buy REGULARLY.
🐑Natural fibers - oh, I can spot them from a mile away!

Look, I know we’ve all heard people say that polyester and synthetic fabric isn’t “bad” because it “lasts forever” and that reduces waste BUT I’m here to challenge:

♻️ Natural fibers last a LONG time too and don’t add to landfills that won’t decompose.

✋We don’t need MORE!!

We simply need to reimagine and reuse what we already have, so, that’s where I come in. ✨

My little boutique at Terra Cove Studio is filled with thoughtfully curated vintage, handmade, and natural fiber focused garments.

More thoughtful choices. More personality. More beautiful things with stories to tell. ✨

And if we can keep a few more perfectly good pieces out of a landfill along the way? EVEN BETTER.

📍 Terra Cove Studio | Skippack, Pennsylvania

Are you team natural fibers, team vintage, or a little bit of both?

I have spent plenty of time mending garments for my vintage resale studio but to sew something from scratch is such a great feeling.

Chasing my joy this year has been such a rewarding experience.

I can’t wait to bring these into my studio and share them as items that other parents, aunties, grandparents, and friends can gift to children they know and love.

Natural fibers, handmade, and ready to be worn by a child who lives in a world of whimsy. ✨

I don’t suck, I just need a time crunch to get r done! 🚜

Listen, moms, we do a lot okay! My daughter asked me to SEW her costume ONE week ago so naturally I had to wait until day 5 to ACTUALLY do it. 😂

And yes, I did sew this myself in less than 2 hours and this raw footage is from my sewing room.

As long as we get it done before the deadline, we did good, right?! Right?!?! RIGHT?!? 😂😭

Thought so! 😮‍💨

I’m not sure if sewing content is desired on Instagram. If it is, I hope you guys see this and like it so I know to keep posting it. 🫶🏽

Have you ever waited until the last minute to do something for your kids?

Let me know I’m not alone!
