💍 You Deserve Each Other | Book Review

“𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙩 𝙗𝙚, 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙖 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚?”

I’ve had this book in my library for a long time now and I’ve been sleeping on it, but it DEFINITELY exceeded my expectations! I can now say that this book is officially stuck in my mind because WOW

Enemies to lovers plus a second chance romance is the perfect equation to my heart AKA this book right here. The writing is impeccable; explaining how she feels and how he might possibly feel using metaphors you wouldn’t even think of really made me read and highlight A LOT from each chapter. I went into this book blindly, thinking that it was just a typical enemies to lovers romance, but as i read i realized it was more than what i expected. The way they found each other again was beautiful, because despite despising one another from multiple misunderstandings, they silently fought for their love for one another. I want to say more, but.. 🥹🥹🥹

“Relearning you has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

This cured my slump. FINALLY

I was shocked that this bookstore carried a wide selection of books because I was told there weren’t that much available. Look at all these classic books! 😩📚🙂‍↔️

Can we talk about how pretty and minimalist these covers are?? BEAUTIFUL 🤩

I’ve been wanting to read these two books and finally gave in and bought it! Such pretty covers i swear 🥰🩷📚

I am pretty sure they had the entire stephen king books and I was told bookstores in Qatar mostly had these!

Most books here are like either hard to find or always sold out in the Philippines

A little reading update for everyone 📚🍃

Still in a bit of a slump, especially now that i’m in another country for my break, since i cannot focus much on reading. However, i recently started You Deserve Each Other (finally) which kinda helped me get out of my funk. I am enjoying their banter a lot and curious on what is going on between them bc i went into this book blindly.

Seven Sundays in June is still a pretty good read even if i am so slow in reading it, but i will pick it up some time this month that’s for sure! I also read a good 30% of it while i was in the plane.

Nonetheless, i hope everyone is doing well these past few weeks!

⭐️ Read with us for 30 minutes before our next class starts 📚

Since I am in a terrible slump (help) reading challenges has helped me lock into reading without being tempted to doom scroll 🌝 i always bring my book with me to force myself to read a few pages per day because wdym i used to read 3 books per week to 0 pages per day 😩

Seven Sundays in June has been my anticipates read for so long now and it came exactly when i am already in a slump which is such a bummer, BUT the story is so nice and i just know it’s going to be another 5 or 6 star read for me!

Fridays and Saturdays are my only days at our campus, so my friend and i treat it as our reading date, which is the best thing ever, because we force each other to read without distractions 🤣🥰

Anyways, this post is my sign to just open my book and read 🙂‍↔️ for all you people who suffered from a reading slump, what did you do to get out of it?? HELP.

⭐️ just bookish photos on my camera roll 🎞️

how’s everyone’s week going? i am in a bit of a slump and it’s terrible 😫 i thought i’d get a lot of reading done after my internship, but it’s been 2 weeks and i’ve done nothing doom scroll.. help 🌚

one thing i love about reading is how it transports me to another dimension 🤌🏻 especially during difficult times, it is exactly the distraction i need to lighten up my mood 🥰

also, i am trying to post more often bc for some reason i am shadowbanned ??? 😭 my posts are not going that well and it seems like my mutuals aren’t seeing it too 🌝 and i think i’m not the only one experiencing this :( help??

🐋 Our Perfect Storm | book review

“𝙈𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙄 𝙖𝙢. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨. 𝘼 𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬.”

This was a comforting read in a way that you’re just reading and waiting how they finally admit their feelings to each other. I was expecting a little bit more and the writing seemed a little dull, which is usually my struggle when reading Carley Fortune books.

Loved their story, especially the whales + their tension, how it was SO obvious that George adored her! but I didn’t find myself reaching for this book that much. However, I will forever devour a best friends to lovers any day, so it’s still an amazing read!

The letters definitely added another star to my rating bc George deserves it. and MIMI!

🥰 He Falls First

First things first, I was easily drawn to the FMC because I am also studying Architecture and this story clearly depicted how hard it is to have a career in the field. Sienna was firm with her future plans and how she should strictly follow it to be successful was so relatable, because I have also done that. Not thinking about anything else besides the fact that I should build my career and be successful. I love how her parents reiterated that true success is quieter than you would suspect and success means nothing if you have no one to share it with.

Theo’s story was so well written and I love how the story represented their family dynamic. His character development was done well too. I liked how he always complimented Sienna and how he admired her work and ambition.

Overall, this book was amazing no doubt, but I somehow lost track in the middle. However, as I continued it, the story picked up on the third act and I cannot put it down anymore. This deserves everyone’s attention!
