people of amman - mohammed who stopped me at petra just to ask where i’m from, omar who had the looks of zorro and critiqued my photos, zaed who laughed at my terrible arabic, and others whose names i never caught but whose warmth stayed. these portraits aren’t really about faces, they’re about the quiet ease of human connection: the way a few words, a smile, or shared silence can bridge entire worlds. amman felt like that, familiar in ways i can’t explain, carried by the people who make it what it is. taken in Amman, Jordan by @abxhr

travel reminds me it’s less about ticking places off and more about how they linger. samarkand didn’t just stay in my camera, it stayed in how the streets slowed me down and how the people made it feel less foreign taken in Samarkand, Uzbekistan by @abxhr

a day trip south, across flat fields and mountain roads, to shahrisabz. everyone told me not to take the shared taxi, but that’s what made it worth it. squeezed in with strangers who quickly stopped being strangers. passing bread, sharing words in languages we didn’t share, laughter that needed no translation. by the end of it, i had a japanese friend and a reminder that uzbekistan is as much about its people as its places. cities of tiled walls and faded grandeur, yes, but also warmth that keeps unfolding in unexpected corners. taken in Samarkand, Uzbekistan by @abxhr

shot on film; some frames worked, some didn’t, but maybe that’s the whole point. early mornings walking through empty streets, getting lost in bazaars that smelled like bread and dust. sharing smiles with strangers who didn’t speak a word i knew. stopping for tea when i didn’t need it, just because the air felt slow. old mosques, faded tiles, kids running up asking for a photo like i was someone important. sunlight that didn’t rush, rain that showed up without warning.
just small, good moments, stitched together

just a few pics from my hyderabad trip back in january (yes i know it’s april)

still thinking about the food. the chaos. the chai. the biryani. shadab had me in a chokehold (and a parcel cus the portion size is no joke)

because if there’s one place that comes close to the magic of thalassery biryani and soft-as-clouds pathiri, it’s the streets of hyderabad. thalassery is the OG - but hyderabadi gave it a fight.

also, chai in front of charminar at sunrise? elite.

the rest was just me walking too much and eating even more. taken in Hyderabad by @abxhr

hong kong was just me taking photos like a tourist, walking like i knew where i was going, and pretending the stairs weren’t absolutely destroying me taken in Hong Kong by @abxhr

hong kong is loud, fast, and always moving, but step back a little, and you’ll see a different side - mountains cutting through the skyline, the sea stretching beyond the chaos, and moments of quiet hidden in plain sight. it’s a reminder that even in the busiest places, there’s always room to breathe taken in Hong Kong by @abxhr

hong kong is a blur of neon lights, packed streets, and red taxis that always show up when you don’t need one - and disappear the moment you do. it’s a city that keeps you on your toes, never slows down, and somehow, that’s exactly what makes it unforgettable

most of these turned out terrible, but the days they’re from were anything but. hong kong on film - messy, chaotic, and kinda perfect anyway

these are the kind of views that make you forget about everything else - except maybe how freezing it was with my hands out of the gloves to get the shot taken in Almaty, Kazakhstan by @abxhr

i’m slowly falling in love with film. why?

not really cus the film rolls and development costs dozens of karak chais (that’s how i do math). but cus it makes me stop and ask, “do i see this moment for what it is? do i feel it enough to keep it forever?” and when the photos come back, it’s like holding tiny fragments of life that I almost forgot were mine. kazakhstan, you were full of those moments.
