I am beyond excited to announce that my book, “Where the Root Speaks,” is out now on Amazon and in the W&L Bookstore. Link in bio 🌱✍🏻 📷

This is a collection of ten eco-poems and nature photographs, all written and taken by me. Created through immersive travel across New England, this book was formed by camping, hiking, and writing directly within the landscapes that shaped some of America’s most attentive poets.

Each poem is intentionally written in the style of a specific New England poet as an act of reverence and study. I studied and attempted to adapt their unique voices in each poem to honor how they listened to the land, allowing place to shape language, rhythm, and thought. The accompanying photographs arise from the same moments of stillness, offering visual echoes of the poems’ attention and presence.

Together, poem and image explore how deep listening to the natural world can become a spiritual and creative practice. Where the Root Speaks is an intimate meditation on land, lineage, and belonging — a book made slowly in conversation with the earth and the poets who taught us how to hear it. by @aby.joyner.creative

Womanhood Elucidated is out now for $15.99 at Jabberwocky Bookstore, W&L Bookstore, and online through Blurb! The link is on ny creative website in my bio 💛

This collection explores womanhood through a blend of poetry and photography. It begins with black and white portraits taken with a Bronica film camera, inspired by Sally Mann, and ends with vibrant digital color photos. Each of the 21 images is paired with poetry that reveals the depth and complexity of the women portrayed, offering a rich reflection on their shared humanity and diverse experiences. The goal of this collection is to recognize all of the boxes that society puts women in and to pull them out of their boxes through the human emotion in the poetry and photography. by @aby.joyner.creative
