My favorite poem as of late. Thought someone else out there could use the motivation.

Just a few reasons to follow or unfollow me. I appreciate everyone’s honesty with this trend and thought I’d give my own transparency. It was actually pretty therapeutic.

Do you resonate or disagree with any of these vibes?

Richard wasn't kidding when he said Scarry.

This failure of ours haunts me daily and we're struggling to figure out a solution. She just wants to be the ultimate queen of broken spines (and ripped out pages😅😭), and who am I to thwart her highness?

Every year I forget I’m a scaredy cat and read a bunch of spooky books, but every year I end up loving those spooky books by the end of them. I’m still in the middle of my journey with this one, though. Hopefully I can sleep without the lights on by the end of it. by @acaseofbooks

Lots of scaries going on in my world and the world at large, but thank goodness books are here to hold our hands through it all. Here are a few I’ve read recently, am reading, or currently have checked out from the library to get me through it all.

What’s getting you through all the crazy? by @acaseofbooks

Billie’s story captured me in a way that I didn’t know was coming, but that I really needed. @alyfergwrites managed to write the heaviness of grief, the weight of depression, the sweetness of real love and healing, and some of the funniest comebacks I’ve read in a very long time all in one book. Having gone through many things that our main character has gone through, I felt so seen and known reading her story—and man, oh man, did I cry a ton.

Perfect for fans of Abby Jimenez, love at first sight, and, of course, dogs, “Foreverish” tells the story of finding a group of people who accept you for who you are - and maybe falling in love along the way.

“Foreverish” is now available on KU and for purchase through Amazon, Ingram Spark, or @pleasantpheasantbooks.

Be sure to follow @rattlethestarspr and @alyfergwrites or upcoming announcements and promotions.

Hi friends! The world is on fire, and what better way to keep things cool than to use your library card? Doing so contributes to the whole reducing, reusing, and recycling thing. This is your quarterly reminder of that.

What I like to do is give a book a chance by checking it out from the library, reading it, and then purchasing it as a possible reread. Sometimes I might buy it mid-read because I so desperately want to take notes in it. The internet will tell you that you have to buy ALL the pretty books that have been made, but I would argue that you can buy the pretty books that you want and leave the other ones that aren’t for you on the shelf for someone else.

If you do want to buy those pretty books, I am establishing a mobile bookstore (@helpyourshelfbooks) that you can purchase from soon or you can support another favorite local bookstore of yours.

What’s a book or resource that you recently discovered through your library?

Happy reading, friends! by @acaseofbooks

The Bonnet Brigade by @christy_matheson_author came across my radar just when I needed something with a little bit of yearning, a lotta bit of sisterhood, and a little mystery sprinkled in the mix. I honestly didn’t know I needed it until I started reading. This book has so much love poured into its pages. It’s clear that Matheson cares so deeply for each of her people she writes about.

The Bonnet Brigade is a regency era story about Celia, a young Irish woman who has been living with her English cousins for some time. This story finds us at a turning point in these women’s lives—a point where they realized their lives are ticking time bombs if they don’t find a way to find love before the end of the Season.

Peter Hughes is an ex-army strategist with a lot of scars, but has found work and purpose in living secret lives in the name of justice. He keeps his inner circle small and his inner life to himself just fine, until he meets Celia and everything he’s ever wanted changes.

This one is for people who love Persuasion by Jane Austen, Little Women, Bridgerton, and even a little bit of Agatha Christie in the mix. by @acaseofbooks
