Rylee girl update!

We just spoke to her liver team and were told her labs look great 2 weeks post surgery! Her direct bilirubin has dropped significantly, which is the most important thing right now! We’ll get labs drawn again in 2 weeks to see where everything is at.

Her jaundice has faded so much and she’s officially no longer our little lemon. It’s still early, and we know we have a ways to go, but we were SO happy and relieved to see those numbers and hear that things are moving in the right direction. Only 10 more weeks to go until we have a better idea if the Kasai worked…but who’s counting?!

We know we’ve said it a million times and we’ll probably never stop saying it, but THANK YOU. The checking in, the prayers, the donations, and just the overall love and support you’ve shown us and our girl through such a difficult time means more than we could ever explain.

Rylee girl update! 💗 Don’t mind her medicine-stained PJs 😂

We are officially HOME and it feels so good! She is back to being our smiley, happy baby, and there truly is no better feeling than seeing that sweet smile again.

Now that the Kasai procedure is behind us, we’re entering a bit of a waiting game. Over the next 3–6 months, we’ll hopefully get a better idea of whether it worked. If it did, she gets to keep her native liver for as long as she can. If it didn’t, we’ll be looking at a liver transplant sooner rather than later. We’re going to try not to stress about what we can’t control (not sure how possible that actually is 😅) and just take everything one day at a time.

We seriously cannot say thank you enough to everyone who has been there for us through all of this. The constant prayers, messages, sharing our GoFundMe, and donating to our family have meant more to us than we could ever explain.

We still have a long road ahead with lots of bloodwork, medications, doctor appointments, and trips back to NYC, but we’ll adjust and figure out our new normal as we go.

Thank you for your prayers!! Rylees surgeon is pleased with her ultrasound… she’s officially tube free and was able to latch and eat! Hoping to be moved from picu tomorrow as long as she doesn’t throw us another curveball! We’re so proud of you Rylee girl 💚💚💚 by @accarman412

Rylee update: asking for some prayers… she had a spike in temp last night and her heart rate was high. Ran some bloodwork and had slightly elevated numbers. Doing an ultrasound this morning to ensure there is no infection. Luckily her temp and heart rate have gone down. We just hate to see our girl like this. Hoping and praying for a clear ultrasound and that her ng tube comes out. Right now she is on a feed hold until her belly can settle.. once we know the results of ultrasound our sweet girl can start to eat again. Our new reality is really setting in and we don’t remember life before this. But we’re staying strong for Rylee girl (at least trying to) 💚 by @accarman412
