Access For All set up in 2021, wanting to make our beaches accessible for everyone. The inspiration came from being mum to a child with complex needs

* Please contact beaches directly through the contact information via our beach checker on our website www.accessforallbeaches.org.uk to see if any of their equipment is available out of season and to check opening times which may be reduced over the winter season *

This is not controlled by Access For All.

Access For All is now closed until spring 2027.

Thank you. by @accessforallbeaches

First thing this morning I cleaned our equipment, put 'Access For All' back on all the wheels as it had faded over the summer. Assessed the storm damage to our storage roof which will need repairs over the winter, had a team meeting and then popped for a quick dip on this lovely calm, sunny day 😊

It was our final meeting of 2027. Lots to discuss, all very positive and what a busy year we have had 👏

Now looking forward to working on a few things over the winter - some updates, some repairs and new projects as well as having a rest 🫣 by @accessforallbeaches

How amazing would this set up be at our beaches 😮 The user could scan a QR code to access the terms & conditions of use and release a locker door to access the equipment of choice........I can dream right 😵‍💫😊 by @accessforallbeaches

Blimey, how windy 😳 But I still managed to get to Westward Ho! for further meetings about beach accessibility. I feel there's still a very long way to go before Torridge District Council are ready to accept the offering of beach wheelchairs which has been frustrating over the last few years but watch this space as I am not giving up!!

Then on to a meeting with The North Devon Coast National Landscapes to discuss some projects we are currently working on which will be exciting. Watch this space peeps 😁

I'm now blowing back home 😅 by @accessforallbeaches

Phew, new spare wheels have arrived 👏 We have lost a couple of wheels this season. They are not stock items so take a while to arrive and are also very expensive. Thankful that we are prepared for any potential issues our host beaches may have 😃 by @accessforallbeaches

So this is a classic example of an accessible beach in Spain. They are all along the coastline with free parking right at the beach, wooden walkways, large fixed gazebos to sit under and beach wheelchairs with lifeguard assistance.

BUT they are not tidal like North Devon so this can remain in place AND they only have this available during their school summer holidays, so for 3 months from mid June to September and then it is ALL removed again which is a shame. by @accessforallbeaches
