Do I make music or is music making me?
1/2 of @ratandtheboar

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

4 years ago I dropped "Voices" with @alabastamusic (aka @sebaspantojacruz ), a track about the everyday struggles of life under late stage capitalism.

I always had the idea of making a dope animation for this track but a lack of time, budget, and talent always kept me from pursuing that.

So here's the track over an animation by @steve_cutts_official that perfectly encapsulates the feeling I had when writing this track.

The ball and chain is a lot looser than it was back then, but still forever present. Like someone once said "it doesn't matter if your chain is 10ft or 100ft, the fact remains the same; you're still bound by chains"

Be sure to peep this + all of my more recent work under @ratandtheboar anywhere music is held hostage by greedy corporations that don't give a fuck about artists.

Peace and love y'all 🙏🏻❤️ by @ace.hux

Nobody asked, but we finally dropped. After a few years of sending ideas and demos back and forth through cyberspace, our record with @and_the_boar, “From Where To Eternity” is finally available on every platform where music is held hostage! (Very convenient) Go peep! 🎧

Recorded around 2023-2025, this joint marks our first full length release under Rat And The Boar. Featuring production and raps from the both of us, and mixing & mastering by the legendary @djkrec 🙏🏻

I'm so stoked on how this turned out, and hope you dig it. There's more to come, so follow us @ratandtheboar

Peace n love, thank u for listening! 🙏🏻 by @ace.hux

10/31/25 - DOOMSDAY

Peace y'all 🙏🏼

I'm stoked to finally let y'all peep this joint we did with the homie Kause DeBoar aka bOARFACE aka @and_the_boar for our collaborative project under the name RAT AND THE BOAR

With cover art and production from myself, raps from Boar and I, and additional production + a mix and master from the legendary @astrallbass , this joint serves as the second single for an upcoming collaborative tape we're releasing with raps and beats from our corners of the galaxy. This joint in particular has a sonic and lyrical style reflective of the small part of our cosmic journey that is the human experience, told from the perspectives of a soul going through samsara for the first time and another soul who's already been around the block a few times

Though we're droppin on Halloween aka Doomsday, this isn't necessarily a Halloween track, but what's scarier than the idea of having to go through the human experience more than once in a world with so many made up systems that consistently oppress us? 🤣

Also with all the historic moments going on all the time everywhere all at once, can't help but sometimes feel what we do is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, but this is for the true heads, in other words

“This goes to those who use music intake to escape, finding love and happiness inside a mixtape”

And that goes for everything we’ll be releasing under Rat And The Boar, so go follow us @ratandtheboar cuz we'll be building that from the ground up - and I'm real fkin proud of the shit we've got lined up. Just give us time 😅

Shout-out to everyone keeping us inspired, and Rest In Power to the Metal Faced Villain and to 👁️.

Thanks for tappin in - stay safe out there, wherever you are in the galaxy, cuz I Heard It's A Mess There Too. And expect to hear a lot more music from us. 🎃

Lyric video for The Trip, the title track off my latest EP with the same name. Had to make this since Spotify is now charging extra for artists to have lyrics in their app as well as charging users to see lyrics in the app (fuck Spotify)

I lowkey hate Spotify and music streaming services in general, feels like they're the best at coming up with a ton of ways to fuck artists over... I sometimes wish we could go back to the days where cats would sling their mixtapes burnt on CDs from a backpack, but those days are long gone.

Like an ancient rap proverb used to say

"Learn to adapt to the change, or get washed away like tears in the rain"

If you dig this EP, consider going to my Bandcamp (link in bio lol) and purchasing it there. But I hate paywalls, so if you really want to own the music, you could literally just DM me and I'll send you a Google drive link with the WAVs so you can download the EP and have it for as long as time allows.

Also, lmk if you fuck wit my @westsidegunn impression lmfao 🤣

Thank you for listening 🙏🏻 by @ace.hux

👁️ The Trip 👁️ Available Everywhere Music Is Held Hostage

Released on 4/20/24, this 3 track EP features production from myself, @mindofkavi & @and_the_boar . With lyrics and performance from myself.

The Trip is a loose concept album of a character partaking in recreational substances over a weekend, only to wake up in the future where everything is fucked. Touching on themes of religion, higher consciousness, sense of purpose, and the public display of the inevitable downfall of mankind, this 10 minute piece of work is my offering for the true hip hop heads and a catharsis for festering thoughts caused by current world events.

Everything is going to shit and the cracks are starting to show. The planet that has enough resources for every single one of us is being bled dry and a good quality of life is behind an increasingly taller paywall while a ton of lives are being lost in wars that are making the 1% richer than ever. All signs lead to a grim ending and the tipping point is coming. Til then we can get high and try to forget about it all, like an ancient rap proverb used to say:

“Life's a bitch and then you die, that's why we get high, Cuz you never know when you're gonna go”

Well that's enough yapping for now, hope you dig the project and know that there's more on the way.

Safe Travels,

🍄 From my trip, to yours 👁️

With new evidence coming to light about what really happened during the 2021 protests in Colombia, it feels like sutures on an old wound being ripped open. As our new government tries to fix decades of corruption, it's hard to forget everything the old governments tried to sweep under the rug. The title track of this 3-track EP is centered around the long history of corruption present in Colombia's dark past. A trend not only present in Latin America. While some of what's mentioned in the song happened only a few years ago, some topics occurred even longer ago. Nonetheless the ghosts of those who fell at the hand of their evil governments still haunt the streets and minds of those who were around to witness their deaths. And there's even more who disappeared without ever being identified...

There's no telling the mental toll that these events have on their population, but I know for sure my brain chemistry has been altered by living through these violent times. I can't speak for the rest though.

To read more on this EP and what happened during the protests, peep my site acehux.com.

Big ups to everyone involved with the EP 🙏🏻

@djkrec 's production on Track 1.
@ebonicraven 's verse on Track 1.
@and_the_boar 's production on Track 3.

These fellas are an infinite source of inspiration, be sure to follow them to keep up with their music 🔥

Floaters EP available anywhere music is held hostage. Thank you for listening/reading 🙏🏻

My new anti-work track "Voices" prod by @alabastamusic available everywhere July 10th. it's about a group of individuals who never fit into the system they were forced into, trying to find a way out of the maze through their art forms, leaving a trail for those who want to follow in their footsteps and leave the rat race that consumes our minds, bodies, and souls.

"a hundred thousand lives to choose
Tight fit noose over the caboose that lost it's fuse
Once enthused to spark a thought in the distraught scholar Faust
That lost his leverage like a pessimist counting blessings..."
