Why are Alligator leather items so expensive? PS. Might be my favorite project to date…

I would argue it is vintage. How old is the craft? How old is the alligator? This is an item crafted from things that were literally alive and for many many years at that. Crafted in a style that wasn’t made for the masses built with hands, not machines. Not built to squeeze every square inch out of it cheap piece of synthetic leather. I think it’s actually the scars and the raised scales in the imperfections that allow people to realize it was made for them when something was made specifically for you, it immediately becomes part of your vintage.
