Yes, the health department was called on us for the video we posted yesterday- measuring coffee beans and announcing free drip coffee.
The concern? That we were filming, touching our phones, and “not washing our hands.”
Here’s the thing: you don’t know when we washed our hands, and whole coffee beans are unprepared food - gloves not required.
They then go through extreme heat and pressure that would literally melt your skin, so the beans are doing just fine.
The only real debate here is barista nerd stuff: oils from hands vs. oils from beans (and yes, gloves make accurate measuring harder).
Feel free to argue that part in the comments.

But calling the health department over free coffee?
That’s not food safety - that’s just petty ☕️🧼 taken in Ace Coffee Co. by @acecoffeecafe

Kinda chic to pick local over convenient.

Kinda chic to know your coffee order.
Kinda chic to know your barista’s name.
Kinda chic to meet a friend, sit outside, stay too long, and grab another one for later.

Because convenience is everywhere. Community isn’t.

Good coffee. Good food. Good people. Your neighborhood spot.

Turns out, local is kinda chic. ☕️

@rocio.rochaa may not be our manager but she loves you like one. ❤️

Shout out to everyone on our team for holding each of us accountable. We’re basically a family… the kind that argues over dumb stuff, roasts each other daily, and would still help you hide a body. taken in Ace Coffee Co. by @acecoffeecafe

A town doesn’t get its personality from another chain restaurant or a big corporation.

It gets it from the crazy people who emptied their savings account, ignored all the “good lucks,” signed the lease anyway, and built something they hoped their community would love.

Small businesses are the soul of a town. Every one of them started with someone willing to risk comfort for a crazy idea.

So if you love living in a town with character, charm, and places that actually feel like your town… support the people who had the courage to create it. ❤️

Most people don’t know the Americano was born out of necessity.

During World War II, American soldiers stationed in Italy found traditional espresso too strong compared to the coffee they drank back home. So they started adding hot water to their espresso, creating something that felt a little more familiar.

The Italians began calling it a Caffè Americano - literally, “American coffee.”

More than 80 years later, it’s still one of the most ordered espresso drinks in the world.

Sometimes the best traditions aren’t invented. They’re improvised. ☕️
