I, frankly, am having a difficult time getting my head around what just happened. I cannot begin to tell you why, and give little credence to those who claim they do.

The darkness, the nastiness, the name calling, the childishness, the utter disregard for law or decency. America chose these things for itself.

It does not matter what reasons are offered because they are based upon the self-deception that the person who tried to blackmail Ukraine, called for an attack on his own capitol, kissed up to dictators, alienated our allies, and mismanaged a pandemic that killed a million of us right under his nose is capable of being any different, or less destructive than he was before.

We have even gone further now to give him a Senate, which in league with a partisan SCOTUS of their own making, can fundamentally change this country into all the things Ben Franklin hoped it would never become.

Can he wave a magic wand and reduce the price of milk or eggs? Can he make our schools or churches safer with deregulation? Do you honestly believe that?

We are dealing with Donald Trump. The guy who rejects climate change and wants to raise the price on everything we buy with tariffs. Crawfish on NATO again, and start another trade war with China. What will the dollar be four years from now?

This is the guy who wants to use military troops in America like those countries that frighten us on TV.

Let's not kid ourselves anymore about what we just did to ourselves. taken in My World by @acedotnet
