At the end of May, I was invited by Acephala to take part in their exciting new projekt DRUTT. @drutt.bags , together with Daria Malicka @daria_matylda , Beata Wietrzynska @in_weave and Julia Kromolicka @julia_kromolicka.

”DRUTT. is a story of radical transformation. Through the collision of two opposing traditions, communist-era Poland and the Polish avant-garde, we turned an unassuming everyday object into a piece of collectible design. Our starting point was the wire-handled market bag that was popular in the 1970s. The DRUTT. bag is a new version of it: made from fine materials, designed with rigorous attention to form and in collaboration with Polish women artists. Here, sculpture merges with textile art, the coolness of steel and the precision of line with the organic quality of the material. To begin with, we have prepared five handles and three textile series, which can be paired to create your own combination.”

An exhibition “New Polish Fashion. A chronicle of deep feelings” curated by Marcin Różyc opened at @centralnemuzeumwlokiennictwa last weekend and it’s going to be on view till June 2027. A collection builit by @marcinrozyc and @dalbiak shows contemporary Polish fashion in relation to our heritage and culture, intertwined with history, politics, autobiographies and emotions. The unique design for the exhibition was created by @zuza_golinska in collaboration with @trinaltvajd

We are so happy and proud @acephalafashion archival designs have been chosen to become a part of the collection.

The T-shirt comes from our Neosuffragette collection and was created with the artist @dorotapawlicka who painted iconic images depicting women strikes from different periods of time and all around the world, as a collective portrayal of womens’ power.

The set with red bolts, which were cut out from the trousers and then placed and embroidered onto transparent longsleeve top, was made during women marches happening during pandemics. Frustrated with the political agenda we worked on the design as the gesture of opposition, fight and frustration, and then hid it in the closet, because we did not want to use symbols of women fight in the context of commercial fashion. It’s really touching, now it stands as a document of time and emotions many of us experienced.
