Month 10/12: sunshine induced sparkle, Shoshana Bean healing my heart in real time, kaiju kitty, fifteen month road to completion on the most recent diamond painting (took one day off and started another, ghost housekeeper, and a collection of glimmers and small smiles including Finch photos of me & Esther, Scouse heroes, and the greatest book review ever written. by @achancetofly
9/12: No wonder it feels like I havenā€™t done this for awhile, Iā€™m FIVE DAYS LATE šŸ˜³ Penny went back to the shelter at the end of August and now with Robby back at school it is very very quiet around the house, which sure gives depression and grief a lot of time to shout. We know we made the right decision but right decisions sure do bite the big one sometimes. by @achancetofly
Month 8/12: this monthā€™s edition is late because it ends poorly. Pennifred is so damn cute; look at those ears. Pennifer loves a sploot almost as much as she loves to sleep under the covers. She loves having her own chair, meeting new friends, playing with a toy of Clementineā€™s, stealing one of my dryer balls as her toy, sitting like a weirdo. She is requiring more work and training than we expected and her reactivity is big, all of which is causing huge flares in my chronic conditions and Iā€™m in terrible pain. Which means that we are surrendering her back to the rescue and currently waiting to hear when a foster will become available to take her. Itā€™s been almost two weeks of waiting and thereā€™s most likely a third in our future, which is making this painful process even more painful. This sucks and we hate it and can this please end. by @achancetofly
Month 7/12: things happened this month, including Fatherā€™s Day and a house warming party, but I forgot to take pictures at those events. But I remembered to remember butter stick fidgets, library savings, finishing a D&D campaign, being cheated out of at least 2 JoJos, and a new household addition. by @achancetofly
Month 6/12: Turns out when youā€™re depressed and lose your main source of pictures, you donā€™t get much to share. Weā€™ve been gifted support through messages and dog visits and pretty things to look at and how much the robins love our birdbath and a new Evanescence album and blooming shrub roses and neighborhood walks and neighborhood dogs. Weā€™ve also been grieving Charlie who was kind enough to allow us to say goodbye. Grief sucks yā€™all. Having people to share the burden is a gift. šŸ§”šŸ§” by @achancetofly
Month 5/12: We know this month ended with awfulness. But before sadness slammed us in the face, there were sunny days, spring trees blooming, murder mystery party written by Robby, cousin Steveā€™s visit. And since saying goodbye, our friends and family (including Stella) have been showing up with love. by @achancetofly
Itā€™s been a scary horrible no-good week. Luna had a very sudden and severe vestibular disease episode come on a few days ago. Yesterday she seemed to be finally improving but then took a big enough step backwards that we couldnā€™t bring ourselves to ask her to keep fighting. This sucks. by @achancetofly
Month 4/12: first of all - new Evanescence! Second of all - letā€™s see how many Luna zoom videos I can include. Third of all - this month contained birthday celebrations and random warm days and a trip to Florida and closing on the old house by @achancetofly
Month 3/12: Quite uneventful because I just canā€™t stop getting sick and Iā€™ve been isolating. The biggest events were selling the house (šŸ„³šŸ„³!!) and cracking my head on the corner of a bathroom cabinet, which led to a fun new game called Migraine or Concussion? Note: it was secret option 3, head injury by @achancetofly
Month 2/12: weā€™ve lived here for 8 weeks which is only a couple weeks short of how long thousands of angry entitled enabled under trained not-law-enforcement-officers have been camped out in my state! But in this house, the month has brought beautiful memorials, progress on listing the old house, more (unpictured) D&D, and lots of glimmers of hope and joy. Mostly starring Luna and her feline love for sunbeams. by @achancetofly
I decided Iā€™m going to chronicle our first year in the new house, so hereā€™s month 1/12: new dog walk routes, Luna getting the hang of dog beds, his and her cough syrup cups, escape room at Lazarus Crowe, 3 D&D sessions, Andersons and Huschkas visits, making steps more comfortable for the resident senior, and narwhal socks from Buy Nothing to cap it all off, along with an ABBA earworm by @achancetofly
Have I mentioned to you that I love ankylosaurus? Because I love ankylosaurus and have since elementary school. Despite this, I consistently call them axolotl, which is a different cute lil guy, but only one of them is referred to as ā€˜living tankā€™ and only one of them is my new dice holder. Thanks for coming to my ted talk. by @achancetofly
