Well, this feels pretty giant!

This week we said goodbye to our beloved Maggie. I was lucky enough to have her for ten of the 15+ years she had on this earth. She was my shadow, my single black female, my pal, the sweetest, smartest, most mischievous, food centric, counter surfer, and ornery dog I have ever known. She loved ALL people, but rarely other dogs.
She had more frequent flyer miles than most humans and visited up and down California, Utah, the Grand Canyon, Denver, El Paso, White Sands, hiked both Cadillac Mountain and even Camelback Mountain as a senior. She lounged in Boston Commons, faced off javelinas at Dove Mountain, kayaked Moosehead Lake, ate ice cream in Bar Harbor, sauntered the Honky Tonk Highway in Nashville, visited the Hermitage for champagne, strolled Duke University, NC State, and UT Austin. She loved her bike rides around Whiterock lake and always acted exhausted even though I was the one peddling. She was known by name at Fearing’s (she loved her buffalo tacos) Target and Home Depot as she entered the door.
She loved her ‘snack man’ (aka Robert), the kids, and sweet Penelope, but I was probably the only one she loved more than food (at least most days).
Her last weekend was filled with snuggles, her favorite coffee shop, and a last supper at Uchi of A5 wagyu and salmon sashimi.
Thank you to Tzu Zoo rescue for my girl! Run free in doggie heaven, sweet Maggie, and be nice to your sister Bailey; she has been waiting for you. by @acjack
