Saving 25% before you even set foot on Aconcagua? Not a bad start.

For the 2026–2027 season, climbers booking through AMG can access a 25% Early Bird discount on their Aconcagua climbing permit.

We can offer it because AMG is an Official Concessionaire of Aconcagua Provincial Park.

The important part is the timing. The Early Bird discount ends on September 30, so if Aconcagua is already in your plans, now is a very good time to book.

The mountain will still be there. The 25% won’t, at least for much longer... 😉

Starting with the 2026-2027 season, Aconcagua enters a new stage, and AMG steps into it as an Official Concessionaire of Aconcagua Provincial Park.

For us, it is a major step forward, and a recognition of the solid operation we have developed on Aconcagua.

What does that mean for climbers and trekkers? Only officially authorized concessionaires can provide services inside the Park, including guides, camps, logistics, meals, load transportation, expedition support and trekking services.

But for AMG, it means something more.

As those who have followed our work and our story know, we are a Mendoza-based company, we have been on Aconcagua for years, and our team brings decades of experience on the mountain. Becoming an official concessionaire recognizes and strengthens everything we have built here. It does not change the way we work. It reinforces it.

Our own infrastructure. Our own logistics. Our own team. One operation, managed directly by AMG.

Whether you book directly with us or through one of our international partners, everything we provide inside Aconcagua Provincial Park is backed by an official concessionaire: AMG.

Local, official, and still The Aconcagua Climbing Company.

Ojos del Salado — 22,615 ft / 6,893 m
The highest volcano on Earth.
Climbing Ojos del Salado is about much more than reaching the highest volcano on the planet. It means heading into one of the most remote and striking parts of the Andes.
High-altitude lagoons, volcanic terrain, huge open landscapes and some seriously clear skies. This is a very different kind of high-altitude expedition.
And on a mountain this remote, the expedition behind the climb matters.
Good acclimatization, proper pacing, solid logistics, experienced guides and a plan built around the terrain are what allow you to focus on the mountain instead of everything happening behind the scenes.
That’s where AMG comes in.
Our guides bring high-altitude experience from Aconcagua and other major Andean objectives, while the whole expedition is planned to give you the time, support and structure needed for Ojos del Salado.
So, what about putting the highest volcano on Earth in your plans for next season?
Ojos del Salado 2026–2027
Scheduled departures from December 2026 through March 2027.

Short on time? Not on Aconcagua.

Climbing is only one of the ways to experience this mountain. If you want a taste of some of the best trekking in the Andes, three days can take you surprisingly far.

From Mendoza and back, we handle everything: transportation, great food, camp, professional guides and, most importantly, the chance to trek all the way to Plaza Francia and stand below Aconcagua’s massive South Face.

You’ll walk through the Horcones Valley, alongside glacial terrain, and into some seriously impressive mountain scenery.

It’s a lot for three days.

Which is exactly the point 😉🤙

If nearly 7,000 meters, enormous empty landscapes and the highest volcano on Earth sound like a reasonable plan, we should probably talk.

That’s exactly why we’ve built a carefully planned program around proper acclimatization, good pacing and giving you the best possible shot at the summit.

And the landscapes along the way? So ridiculously beautiful they look like Christopher Nolan already picked the location for his next movie. A few slides in and you’ll understand why.

Ojos del Salado is remote, uncrowded and very different from the usual Andean climbing experience. Endless blue skies, enormous distances and a landscape that sometimes looks more like another planet than somewhere you drove into from Argentina.

It’s one of those expeditions where the journey is every bit as good as the objective, and if disappearing into the Andes for a while sounds like your kind of plan, we know where to take you.

Everyone is talking about El Niño these days. And we’ve been getting plenty of questions about what it could mean for the upcoming Aconcagua climbing season: will the weather be less predictable? Will it be colder? Should we expect more snow? What’s the best month to climb?

Fair questions. But when it comes to Aconcagua weather, the answers are rarely that simple. Just look through the photo gallery and you’ll see how different conditions can be, even in the same month from one season to another.

First of all, Aconcagua plays by its own rules. Its sheer size and elevation mean that it interacts with passing air masses in ways that the lower surrounding mountains simply don’t. Moisture, wind and temperature can behave very differently around a mountain that reaches nearly 7,000 meters above sea level, and that comes with both advantages and complications.

For Mendoza, snow is ALWAYS good news (yes, capitals intended). We rely heavily on Andean snowpack for water, so after years of drought, this winter’s accumulation is especially welcome for agriculture, local communities and Aconcagua operations, from base camps to high camps.

But back to the original question: will El Niño make this a more complicated season?

There’s no reliable way to know yet, and only one good way to find out: come climb Aconcagua. We’re sure, absolutely sure, undeniably sure, it’s going to be a great season, with or without a temperamental child in the Pacific.

Aconcagua 360° Route explained: enter from one side, circle the mountain, climb to 6,962 meters, and walk out the other side. Simple concept. A bit more of a journey in practice, and a pretty great way to get to know Aconcagua from more than one angle.

On the Vacas Valley side, the landscape is greener and the approach to base camp is longer but more gradual. Higher on the mountain, the distances between camps are also greater, making the 360° Route more physically demanding overall than the Normal Route.

Want more challenge? Go 360°. Want to see how completely different Aconcagua looks from one side to the other? Go 360°. Want quieter terrain, changing landscapes and a route that shows you much more of the mountain along the way? The 360° Vacas Valley Route is probably calling your name.

There’s more than one side to Aconcagua. The 360° lets you meet both.

Instead of Normal, Aconcagua’s Northwest Route should probably be called Exceptional. The only problem is that telling people you’re going to climb the Exceptional Route sounds a little awkward.

Perhaps what really makes it exceptional is how we climb Aconcagua’s Normal Route at AMG: a trek to Aconcagua’s South Face, an ascent of Mount Bonete, a 5,000-meter peak right in front of base camp, and high-altitude camps designed to keep you comfortable, supported, and focused on what matters most: climbing.

What else? Some of the best sunsets in the Andes and a base camp built to feel a little like home when you’re very far from it.

And then there’s the staff. Our team will always go the extra mile to make your expedition the experience you were looking for.

The route might be called Normal. Our program isn’t.

Oxygen: same mountain, same altitude, one more option in the plan.

Supplemental oxygen can be used on Aconcagua as part of specific expedition plans, particularly on shorter itineraries, faster ascents, or on summit day, when the goal is to provide additional support at extreme altitude and improve a climber’s chances of reaching the top.

But there’s an important point: oxygen does not replace acclimatization, fitness, preparation, or good guiding.

It’s not a shortcut. It’s another tool that, when used properly, can help climbers perform more efficiently at altitude and support a stronger final push.

At AMG, we have O2 available for selected programs and summit-day use, always within a broader plan built around acclimatization, conditions, pace and safety.

Thinking about a shorter Aconcagua program or using supplemental oxygen on summit day? Talk to us. We’ll help you choose the best approach for your climb.

Aconcagua stays at 6,962 meters. Fortunately, your approach has options.
