The Cuban Street culture changes throughout the seasons. I took this image last May and loved spending time at the basketball court. I was just there early September and the court was empty every day. It’s just too dang hot. It doesn’t seem to matter what life in Cuba looks like, the Cuban spirit perseveres. There’s dancing, smiles and peace signs for the camera, and people still taking care of their bodies.

My friend Edu jokes with me that Cubans are just a superior race of humans. Hmmmm… maybe he’s not joking. 🤔😂

There are certain streets in Havana that are filled with kids. They’re in their underwear, barefoot with stuffies, chasing, yelling, playing marbles, and sometimes moving with a freedom and carelessness that brings true joy to my heart. The end of the line.
There are a lot of lines in Havana — water, bread, soap, banks, food, embassies. That about sums it up.

I loved this dude ! His energy was strong and clear, his vibe was 💯 and he was more than happy to have his pick snapped. I can’t believe I didn’t get one without the glasses. 🤦‍♀️. I’m not sure about this but I don’t believe I saw this much style and individuality when I first started visiting Havana. This was a new barber shop for this trip and I wish I had spent the whole day here !!! The electricity in Old Havana was very unpredictable this trip and they ended up being closed A LOT. I’ll be putting some cordless clippers in my bag next time. This was the first trip were I’ve seen barbers on the streets almost every night under random lights. This wall immediately caught my eye because of the Hawaiian lei and of course, the color. What I wouldn’t do to have a pink walls like this in one room of my house. Upon further exploration. I discovered a clock with no hands and a back wall filled with small ponies and puppies. We’ll add a beautiful welcoming smile and blue eyes and you most certainly know you’re in Cuba. #cuba2025 #havanacuba taken in Habana Vieja by @aconica

Spent some time with old friends @ernecreatvt last week and loved seeing some newness around Havana. What I can tell you with certainty is that Cubans have the Eye of the Tiger ! Resilience and heart go hand in hand and I’m always in awe. #cuba2026 #cubanculture by @aconica

I felt a bit guilty take n this one, he wanted to sing for me and I truly just wanted to take the photo. So handsome, sincere, and a most lovely combination of all things Cuban and Havana.
