"Crank science has now entered mainstream science" Quote @acrank2

... and science will never be the same again.

The Cruble Telescope and a Large Crank Collider are imminent.

Our educational, informative and, frankly, crankalitious, installation at @capetownsciencecentre on Saturday was a success.

The kids, and big kids, aka parents, loved the show and demos.

Huge cranks to the Collective who showed up in strength.

REPORT NO.2: The World Crank Festival 2026

As we move into a bland weekend with no Crank festivities, we nostalgically remember last weekend through a misty lens.

"The festival is no more but we must go on".

But of course it would never have gone on in the first place without the cranking love of my fellow crankers who did all of the bits that made the festival possible:
@rybicka.art @acrank2 @fleurmach for logistics also @richardkilpert who couldn't make it but was there in spirit.

Our special guests, and @sensa.org.za reps: @saaa__ge @undoubtedly_justin_keep

And a special crankyou to:
@james8392564 for running a sterling workshop and for being childrens' workshop puppet co-master, dominic and @acrank for the most excellent poster and @stjohnfuller for the most important attendance certificate.

Crank you!

REPORT NO.1: The World Crank Festival 2026

Much good fun was had at the festival.

There was a good turn out from the Collective, friends of the Crank and the general public.

We had:

- a noisy children's Crank race & Cranky 'shadow puppet' show.
It should be noted that the parents were just as keen😏, one of whom was crowned Crank champion

- ran a workshop where Crank Instrument Production was explained and implemented

- a Crank jam where we explored new approaches to Crank Sound Propagation. Especially noted: @saaa__ge who initiated a whole new arm of Crank Sound: Aquacranking.

Also @saaa__ge on behalf of @sensa presented a keynote speech cementing 6 months of positive bilateral relations with the Collective.

- And we launched the CrankCorp special edition sticker (with StickyChain© technology)

We look forward to the next event.

Thank you to the Collective and to all our friends.

Crank you!

The Supreme Cranker did their rounds last night and met up with Cranker James aka The Book Guy at his excellent @bluebirdgaragemarket book shop.

We Cranked our Crankstruments.
As we should.

We practiced the secret handshake. Practice makes perfect.

And a unique copy of Clockwork Orange was sighted in the wild.
