Our Fundraising Tip of the Week!

Football season is here and football squares are a fun and easy way to raise funds towards your efforts! PLUS - you are giving your donors a chance to win!

Here's how it works: Charge a certain amount per square - $10-$20 is great - then determine your payouts! Then, sell, sell, sell! Fill up that board! Once your board is filled, randomly draw numbers 0-9 for the top row and left column. Depending on payouts, you may have a winner per quarter or just at half & the final. The winner is dependent on the score at the time of the payout and where they lie on the grid. Finally, complete your payouts and then donate the remaining to your page!

We are back with another Pacesetter Pro Tip! In these monthly posts, we will be sharing with you fundraising tips from DetermiNation Pacesetters (the top fundraisers in the program) and what has worked for them as they raise funds for the fight against cancer!

Our September Pacesetter Pro Tip comes from our 2026 Walk and Roll Chicago DNation team, Lisa Dedina:

"As a caretaker for my mom, whom I lost to cancer in 2023, and with so many family members and friends currently battling or lost to this disease, I have a fierce, deeply personal urge to support this cause. Participating in the annual ACS Walk and Roll allows me to honor their memory, share my story, and give others a meaningful reason to give. Over the past two years, I am incredibly proud to have raised over $5,000 by focusing on a few impactful strategies: maintaining consistent messaging, engaging with my coworkers to encourage submission of matching funds, and utilizing my own organization as a platform for giving via United Way. I also expanded my outreach by hosting a Double Good popcorn fundraiser. Combining these diverse efforts created additional opportunities for people to contribute to this significant cause. Ultimately, the heart of fundraising is connection. I make it a priority to deeply thank everyone who supports this journey and always provide extra personalization for those who stand by this cause year after year."

Thank you for sharing Lisa and congrats on raising over $5,500 for ACS for the 2026 Walk and Roll Chicago! We look forward to having you on the team again in 2027! by @acsdnation

September is recognized as both Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and Gynecologic Cancers Awareness Month.
Gynecologic cancers over 5 main types—cervical, ovarian, uterine (endometrial), vaginal, and vulvar. Over 110,000 U.S. diagnoses occur annually, but you can help reduce that number. Learn more about gynecologic cancers here: https://www.cancer.org/cancer/types/cervical-cancer.html
Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in U.S. men (about 1 in 7 lifetime risk) and a leading cause of cancer death in men. Screening can prevent a diagnosis! Learn more here: https://www.cancer.org/cancer/types/prostate-cancer.html by @acsdnation
