There are no words to truly relay how I feel about the absolute rockstar women in my life. Women who have raised me and shown me the way. Women who have believed in me and stood by to catch me when I fell. Women who encourage and inspire - me every single day.
•
And what a privilege it is to be a part of their stories, too 🤍
•
I don’t fancy myself a poet, but I wrote these words down a few years ago and they still resonate with me...
•
“Whoever it is that you are,
And whatever it is that you do.
As long as you are kind,
Always be unapologetically you.”

7 years of ACT Design.

Beautiful spaces matter, and sure, that’s what we do here. But it’s just so much more than that to us.

We create spaces for connection.
For slow mornings and loud dinners.
For growing families, celebrations, quiet moments, and lives well lived.

Thank you for trusting us with the backdrop to your stories.

Cheers to seven years 🤍 taken in Connecticut by @actdesignct

Little recap of the week 🏡

Made extra special by the V guilty looking gray furball who made some decisions that complicated some of our plans 🙃🐾

That’s ok though. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in 15 years, it’s how to pivot and keep it all moving👌🏻

Photographing finished spaces has never been my priority… and It feels weird sometimes to share almost-done spaces when all I see are carefully curated professional photographs in my feed.

I DO have a million and one progress shots. I have photos of measurements & sketches, shots of my tape measure stretched out, and close ups of the inevitable problem that needs to be solved. These are always taken with my phone, as I balance 15 things in the other arm and I’m rushing to get to my next meeting on time (but also need to stop for a coffee in between ☕️)

So knowing who I am and how nutty life is, I’m shaking hands with the fact that I might just have to share less than perfect photos most of the time.

So, here we have it. Today’s vibe is a few🔥ceiling details.

This pace of this reel feels like an accurate description of the (incredible) whirlwind that was 2023.

I’m late to the party with the recap, but 2024 has started off with equal force; and for that, my gratitude knows no bounds.

My mind is pretty blown by the amount that I continue to learn, every single day. There are a million ways to design anything, any yet there’s always only 1-3 right ways to make it all come together. I’m realizing that maybe that’s what I love the most about my job. What we do is both an art and a science and I’m grateful that my brain allows my heart to swell for both.

Anywho. Cheers to lots more amazing clients and projects in 2024✌🏼 by @actdesignct

Construction isn’t glamorous.

But when the details are carefully laid out and thoughtfully discussed, the end result will change your life.

I’m not going to say that we were trying to match #thegoodestgirl Ziggy when we designed this stair…

But I’m also not going to say that we weren’t 🤷🏻‍♀️🤐
