The other day, we stopped over at the Gary Comer Youth Center on the South Side, connecting with a space that stands as a pillar of opportunity for the next generation of athletes. Act II is focused on empowering future leaders from the South and West Sides of Chicago, guiding current, future, and past athletes through life’s most crucial transition—life after sports.

We recognize the gravity of gun violence in our communities, but through our unique programming, we’re preparing athletes to not only overcome these challenges but also to become leaders who can influence real change.

Gary Comer, a visionary from the South Side, built this center as a beacon of hope for the youth. Today, we honor that legacy by using Act II’s mission to equip athletes with the tools and resources for career development and mental health support, ensuring they succeed on and off the field.

🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT: PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS 🚨

Act II Foundation, founded by former NFL athlete turned entrepreneur, filmmaker, and artist Kyle Prater, is proud to introduce Pathways To Success (PTS)—a program designed to equip the next generation of athletes, men and women from all backgrounds, with the tools to thrive beyond the game.

On February 21, 2025, in partnership with Gary Comer Youth Center, we’re launching this initiative on the South Side of Chicago, focusing on mental health, transition preparation, and career path development. Whether athletes are still competing or preparing for their second act, PTS provides the knowledge and resources to navigate branding, NIL, business, media, and more—ensuring they are positioned for long-term success.

With support from Gary Comer Youth Center, Merrill Lynch, Cirkul, Chasing Greatness Productions, CACHET, and Swank Publishing, we’re building a movement that extends beyond the game.

My second act has been the most fulfilling part of my life.

I know that surprises people. But for so long, my ecosystem thought the NFL was the highlight of my life - the peak of the mountaintops, my the whole story.

But football was never the destination. It was only a vehicle - the one God allowed me to drive, faithfully, until the wheels came off and I crashed out. It carried me exactly where I was always meant to arrive. I didn’t always follow Gods plan throughout my life, I leaned on my own understanding and let my circumstances dictate faiths and beliefs. Often times I was using my own GPS wondering why I didn’t have no signal as if I’m using MAPS while being on Lower Wacker downtown Chicago wondering why my car in a lake. He’s carried me and the ✝️ throughout this journey to get to this final destination.

You just watched me name the hats I wear but for so many years they lived in separate rooms.They’ve finally married into one and have allowed me to cultivate and curate spaces like this.

EVOLVE is that ascension. This that Dragonball Z Gohan and Android 16 moment before Cell takes his life and he says to Gohan, “Gohan, let it go. It is not a sin to fight for the right cause... it is because you cherish life that you must protect it... DROP YOUR RESTRAINTS. Protect the life I loved”. Your witnessing an ascended warrior who’s experiences has shaped and molded me to be here in front of you. This the destination I was driving toward my whole entire life.

Greatness was never the game. Greatness is this….EVOLUTION

Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.
This one’s personal.
For years, I wore the mask—tough on the outside, broken on the inside from the experiences of life , past failures , toxic relationships.
We’re taught that strength means silence. That being a man means holding it all in.
Especially Black men. Especially those of us who come from chaos—homes, jobs, relationships that didn’t nurture us, just hardened us.

But trauma is trauma. And unspoken pain doesn’t go away. What it does is , it finds quieter ways to sabotage us.
I’ve been there. Post-NFL. Post-spotlight. I had to confront what I was carrying, and why it was keeping me stagnant.
Healing isn’t weakness. Vulnerability isn’t soft.
It’s courage.
It’s growth.
It’s God’s grace in motion.

That’s why I created HEAL— my most recent song, its movement, a constant reminder.
It’s not sad. It’s a stamp. A reclaiming. A real one’s soundtrack.
Go listen. It’s for us.

And through @actiifoundation we’re continuing that work—building spaces for brothers to unlearn, unpack, and evolve.

Let this be the month we stop pretending and start processing.
The real flex is peace of mind.🖤

Last week, Act II had the incredible opportunity to go live on Fox Chicago’s Good Day Chicago to speak about our upcoming Pathways To Success (PTS) launch! Before stepping on air, we took a moment to reflect on what this program truly means—not just for us, but for the next generation of athletes and young leaders navigating life’s transitions.

PTS is more than a program; it’s a movement. It’s about providing mentorship, resources, and real opportunities for those stepping into new chapters—whether that’s a career shift, personal growth, or finding purpose beyond a passion they’ve dedicated years to.

Too often, people are left asking, “What’s next?” after a major transition. That’s where we come in. Our mission is to bridge that gap and help individuals step into their full potential, no matter where they come from or what field they’re in.

I never got to see my husband play football, but I do get to see the impact the game has had on him—especially when it comes to life after sports. 🥹🫶🏽

I got to witness him bring his vision to life with Act II Foundation’s ‘Pathways to Success’ event in Chicago. Seeing athletes come together, connect, and realize that there’s so much more beyond the game was everything.💪🏽

Last Friday we officially launched Act II’s programming. Our first Pathways II Success activation was more than a success—it was a reminder of why we do this. After three years of laying the foundation, seeing 30 student-athletes show up ready to learn, grow, and embrace the next chapter of their lives was powerful. This is bigger than sports—it’s about life, purpose, and creating opportunities beyond the game.

We built this program on three pillars: Mental Health, Transitioning, and Career Development—because these athletes are more than their stats. They are today’s leaders, innovators, and future changemakers.

To set the tone for the day, I played “MEMBERS,” an unreleased single from my upcoming EP EVOLVE. Music is a universal language, and I wanted them to feel something different—something that spoke to their potential. The room’s reaction? Powerful and Inspiring. They listened, they connected, they vibed. Moments like that are why we started Act II.

This wasn’t just a workshop—it was a spark. A reminder that your past doesn’t define your future. Your story is still being written. And for these young athletes, we wanted them to walk away knowing: you have the power to evolve.
