One of the most important aspects of #vangoghbetweenworlds is its commitment to giving a voice to the women who surrounded Vincent van Gogh throughout his life.

Brilliantly portrayed by Cloé Xhauflaire @actineverywhere , these female figures are not mere secondary characters in the story of a great artist.
They become essential witnesses, carrying their own emotions, perspectives and truths.

Among them are Vincent’s sister, Mademoiselle Ravoux, and above all Sien Hoornik (Clasina Maria Hoornik), the woman who perhaps came closest to sharing Vincent’s daily life as a true companion.
Sien occupied a unique place in his story, yet her own voice has largely been absent from history.

In “Van Gogh Between Worlds”, the author @paolavenetoauthor chooses to imagine that voice.
Through theatre, Sien is allowed to speak of her fears, hopes, tenderness and struggle.
She is no longer simply a footnote in the biography of a famous man, but a human being with her own story, dignity and emotional landscape.

This artistic choice is not only an act of historical imagination but also a symbolic tribute to the countless women who have inhabited the lives of artists, writers, thinkers and visionaries, often remaining invisible within the stories that history chose to preserve.

By restoring humanity and agency to these #women, the performance invites audiences to look beyond the familiar portrait of Vincent van Gogh and to recognise the network of relationships, affections and sacrifices that shaped his world.

Their voices remind us that history is never made by one person alone.
It is also made by those who stood beside them, loved them, challenged them, inspired them, and too often disappeared from the record.

Through Cloé Xhauflaire’s sensitive and powerful performance -she is also one of the narrators- these women finally step out of the shadows and claim their place within the story at the @edfringe @assemblyfest

What if you could let go of everything that hurt you?

Impossible?
Nope.

Possible.
But it requires courage ,self love and most importantly… a decision

As actors, we can use pain.
We can use it as memory.
As fuel.
When it’s healed.
As understanding.
When we faced it.

I’ve already been through a lot of pain in my life and I’ll certainly face more because pain is part of life.
We can’t avoid it.

But one thing I know for sure is this:
Resentment never helped me.
Revenge was never part of my DNA.

What stayed for a long time was incomprehension.
Trying to understand why.
Trying to make sense of it.

Then I decided to use it for myself instead of against myself.
To use it for my growth.

Shit happens.
People hurt you.
Situations hurt you too.

But you can choose to transform it into strength.

Maybe the pain never fully disappears.
But you can learn from it.
And build your next step stronger than before.

This little one fell in front of my window.
Her legs weren’t moving anymore.
I called her Juliette ☺️

Couldn’t get from one branch to the next.
So no way to fly and land.

The vet told me the brain was probably damaged. Nothing to do.😢
I decided to try anyway with his help! 💪🏻👨🏼‍⚕️
Every day I massaged the tiny legs. Care, time, trust and love.
Patience.
Slowly the legs started moving.👊🏻

Three months later, she flew away.🍀
I miss her. And I’m so happy.

That feeling of helping someone get back on track makes my day worth living.

That’s what I do with actors.
